Yes u can get third party insurance .....its different for each truck as far as the bobtail insurance. Based on truck value on contract I believe with no depreciation through time

Allan had a correct answer but I think mine is maybe more relevant. We own our truck and lease to JCT. We use JCT's insurance because it is 100x cheaper than 1st time insurance for a driver. We both have spotless records and he has over 5 years experience as an owner/operator. That's important as that is a price break point. We pay $124.99 per week. We are pricing out getting separate insurance as we have just gotten our own authority and the cheapest liability, physical damage, and cargo quote we received to date is $6900+ change. In addition to that we will be paying $3120 for occupational/accident. The $125 a week we pay to JCT includes occ/acc. So you can see the savings are immense.:biggrin_25517:

Alan-Just curious what is the year of your T600 and how many miles were on it when you began your lease and how many are on it now (if you don't mind me asking). Thank you.

Well I talked to a driver at a truck stop in york today and he has convinced me that jct is the way to go . I called and completed application and signed (electronic ) authorization release. So in about a week I will be figuring out when to do orientation. This thread and the driver I talked to were very helpful in making my decision to join you folks. TY and stay safe I will keep you updated k. JL

Ok, so you hold back 18% from gross before expenses like fuel and truck payments or after expenses?
