Dont take things so literallly. He is talking about distracted driving, while sharing his opinion....Thats it!!!!!!!

And why do you dislike the Amish so much? I would always take their side over that of a truck driver, based on experience with both sides.

You criticize him for taking the side of the "Barney", yet you stand up for the truck driver. How many times is the speculation of a truck driver completely wrong?!

Why is your opinion any better than his?

Really Joey? You obviously don't get it do you?

Ok I'll try to make this simple for you........ But since you obviously can't comprehend what you read I'm sure this is gonna fall on deaf ears/eyes(I'm sure you get the point) I hope?

Never did I defend this driver.....

Never did I imply that I dislike the Amish....

If you ain't figured out the point by now, me explaining it won't help.....:biggrin_25513:

Reaching for a tipped over spit cup would've been a better comparison to lighting a cigarette. Distracted driver and what not. Comparing the lighting of a joint to that of a cigarette is just laughable. Everybody knows it takes way longer to properly light a joint than it does a cigarette.

    outerspacehillbilly and Les2 Thank this.

And you obviously can't comprehend what you read based on your rebuttals to his posts. But here again, you are far superior than the rest of us here. :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:

Les, by your posts in this thread, I also had the perhaps mistaken idea you didn't like Amish people.

Maybe my reading comprehension skills need a little work, too, yeah? I honestly wish people would stop with this and just come right out and call the person being addressed "stupid" or a "moron." You're already saying it...just in fancy language.

And yet you still missed the point....

Not superior, just smart enough to not blame someone until all the facts are out.

Yeah you apparently need to work on understanding what you read, and if the shoe fits....

I agree that it would be best to not jump to conclusions. When a truck is involved in an accident, the truck is nearly always considered at fault until proven innocent. Even if the truckers is not at fault, there is still a good chance that he will be sued and his insurance company pay to the plaintiff. Initially, I heard that the driver had been taking prescription drugs. Then I read that his drug screen turned out negative. Now, he is reaching for a cigarette. It may take some time before all the facts are available. Having spent a fair amount of time in that area, I would suspect that the driver was at fault. I have had Amish dart out in front of me before, but for the most part, they are pretty watchful. I don't remember the time of day, but if it was at dusk or dark, it can be difficult to see those buggies. Most of them have lights on their buggies around Lancaster. Others usually have a reflective triangle. If you are on a two lane road, you can be on top of one of them before seeing them. When you know you are in an area where there are Amish, you really need to be extra watchful. I am sure all the facts will come out in court.

this post seems so much like the one that happened last summer when the driver in NY hit the lady that was sitting in her car on the side of the road and killed her.. reports were saying he was watching porn and was distracted.. which i thought was b.s cause there's no way to tell that someone was watchin a porn or accessing any type of file on a computer at any one given time and be completely accurate. but half of this forum swore it's what he was doing, and he was a pervert, and he needed to burn for killing that mother.. i dont really know what the out come of it was, i stopped following it.
