I can wait Wedge- best you just focus on your training for now and get some time under your belt!
Your trainer sounds great! I think that makes all the difference in the world vs the poor new driver who gets the trainer that uses you as a warm body to run team and sleeps instead of teaching you! The ex's trainer was like yours. He was a 30 year vet of driving though old salty dog. But he was good trainer! Left after he finished up as he wanted more home time. Not that he was unhappy with USX.
Keep it between the ditches!!! and be safe driver!!!!!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Whats this stuff about USX drivers not running NE..Im kind of jelous..I run almost nothing but the NE..Actually its so normal to me now Im not sure Id be comfortable anywhere else..lol
Wedge Thanks this. -
no they do run NE Hamster.....well the ex did when he was doing the Dollar tree run last year.
Hamsterrock74 Thanks this. -
My trainer elects not to take NE runs. Company drivers work forced dispatch, L/O's do not.
Sitting in Illinois, waiting for dispatch. 59 hours in the bag.Hamsterrock74, sammycat, wulfman75 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh,ok that makes sense..I figure when going L/O Ill say nay to any loads to NYC and all major citys on the Atlantic coast..I just dont think its worth it.I can understand not running the NE period.Fuel can be a bear and traffic sucks. With Roehl because alot of their freight runs the NE its tuff to say no to NE all together.
Glad you are doing well Wedge and hope to see you out there at some point.Wedge Thanks this. -
Hey buddy, Just popping in to wish you all the very best on the road. Can't wait to get together again and maybe have that coffee...LOL
See you soon bro.Wedge Thanks this. -
Hello Everyone.
Busy, busy, busy.
I've been running hard and driving my 11 every day. Running super solo gives our truck longer runs, so my trainer spends time in the sleeper so he's available in case he is needed to drive to make sure we deliver on time.
I have over 100 hrs BTW so the training is more than 2/3 of the way complete.
We're waiting in NC for dispatch after delivering very late last night. We've been running at night a lot lately. Just the way it's been working out.
That's it for now. I'll again when post again when I can.
And you're right, Sammycat......I've been pretty busy. I drove over 2400 miles the first week, and 2900 this week.
Thanks for reading.

Good to hear from you Wedge!
Sounds like things are working out well! Good miles so far and you seem to be getting close to finishing up your hours soon and will be able to go solo.
I am so glad to hear your trainer is letting you TRAIN and not basically running 'team' and you don't get the time you need to learn!!
Stay safe driver!!!!!
Keep us posted when you can!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Hey sammycat! Guess who i'm hanging out with????????????
