punctured fuel tank

    a driver punctured right side fuel tank at a truckstop about a quarter mile away,left about 50 gallons there.drove up the road with people yelling.decided to pull in another truckstop to see what was going on.dumped another 50 gallons before the fuel island.pulled to the back lot and parked.i have more pics but the name of the company and truck number are in them. 000_0698.jpg

    That is going to be expensive for somebody. Did they get charged? Did you report them?

    What an ###(the driver). STOP! and then call 911 and then call your company and report it. Cost for clean up is less if reported when it happens. We had a drive pull the same type of crap. What an expense. Needless to say, driver is no longer with the compnay and EVERY one of our trucks is REQUIRED to have a fuel spill clean up on board. They fit nicely in sideboxes or under the passanger seat(where mine is located).

    dec hazmat,sherriffs were there.clerk said the driver didn't get any tickets because driver didn't know it happened.

    What kind of circle check did the driver do if he didn't know it happened?

    When I see that, all I can think of is. FREE FUEL.

    Not really. Kinda of crazy though, would you realize your fuel gauge is dropping quick? Proper trip inspections?

    Are people walking in the fuel puddle without shoes on?
    I've never been around that much dumped fuel, but that sounds a bit insane to me.
