I agree with all of the above and would add making left turns from the right turn lane should be reckless driving, but some will never change. You start locking people up and it might change.
This joke illustrates that some people think that driving is a right, not a privilege and responsibility.
A speeding driver was stopped by a Law Enforcement Officer and asked for her license. She responded by telling him that the last time she had been asked for her license, that officer had taken it away.

Nevada makes absoulutly no sense at all and would be a complete waste of money. There's hardly anyone driving on I80 in Nevada anyway!! Why would they need a seperate lane for trucks?!? And I15 is only in Nevada for a short while, so there would be no sense in upgrading that for this purpose.
(Sorry I messed up the quote- you need 20 posts to post anything with a link it and I'm not up to 20 posts yet) -
Was formed originally as routes for Commerce. Defense was secondary, and ALL others were the after thought to use 'our' hwy!!

That's okay, I believe you. My only trip to Nevada was to drive there in my boss's car from CA one Sunday afternoon. The people driving back to CA on that road had the road jammed and gridlocked, nobody was going anywhere for miles. If people wouldn't travel in private cars at peak periods, everything would move better but that will not happen for a long time yet.

Thanks. Was that near Reno? I've never been out west- just really interested in roads and especially I80 in Nevada.
Ohio makes sense in the Cleveland/Coloumbus/Cincinatti metropolitan areas, but not in the rural areas. Just don't think it would be worth it in the ENTIRE state, just in urban/suburban areas where traffic is heaviest. I was just shocked to see Nevada was interested. -
I know I'm not in a truck yet but I live off I-95 in Connecticut, doing courier work in a cargo van.
So while I sit in the 91/95 merge traffic, day after freakin' day. I say to my buddy, we are the most elite form of life on this planet and yet we still sit in traffic, and manage not to do anything about it. We yearn for growth but we can't get out of our own way...kinda sounds like the government, off busy
saving the world while the conscious fundamentals are going to hell.

This would be like restrictor plate races at Daytona. The trucks would all be bunched up together and one little bobble from one driver would have a dozen trucks piled up.
-
..all those unhappy truckers wont let 'you' merge in "readily!!" It's just a natural thing to resist 'road hogs' & obnoxious drivers...Sorry, but a fact of life!!
-
I have been thinking lately the reason we have so many problems is that we absorb the responsibility of 4 wheelers. No matter how stupid of an accident or complaint, we take the blame. If they would start writing newspaper articles like "Car is sideswiped by truck, 4 die. Not truckers fault, car was going over speed limit and failed to yield to the truck signal. Car driver lived and was fined for not yielding and ordered to pay trailer repair cost."
Watch as all of a sudden, you CAN make a lane change when you need to. -
All I know is 95 can't support anymore growth.
But like I said it's fundamentals.
But of course all the candidates want to save the world with their new approach on the war and their new found political policy. Rudy Guliani seems to have a more logical approach out of all of them...
That being said, new legislation: One is not allowed to reproduce unless he/she owns a home, and/or falls under the appropriate income bracket vs. cost of living formula. Bingo! Subsidized housing, welfare...hello...stop having kids, it's killing your economy!!
End of rant.
