another fallocy. No one is suckered into a lease. You choose to lease. You choose to sign up. You choose to sit in the classes that lay everything out in detail.
And if you choose to leave, you can leave with only a very small fee. ($500).
Anytime. (and that fee is usually forgiven if you simply go back to the company side)
    Suckered into a lease?
    Hardly.
For many of us, the lease gives an opportunity to make more money, have a bit more freedom and take advantage of tax benefits not available to employees.
Again, as TLea says. Not every situation is for everybody. Just because I like banana cream pie and you don't, doesn't make me a loser.
I have people aske me all the time the ups and downs of leasing. I tell them straight. It's not for everybody. But for some of us, it's good.
As for short trips? Define short.
As a solo driver, my average trip over the last year averaged just over 1,000 miles.
My shortest was 23 miles. My longest was 2,419.
I take any trip given to me. I don't pick and choose.
The same trips are available for all drivers.
My last 4 trips are 1,219 miles, 949 miles, 735 miles, 1,179 miles. This is over the last 8 days.

    your apology is accepted.

Most of my trips are short trips through Werner. But they are back to back. I have about 1900 miles worth of day trips over the next three days shagging trailers for General Mills between Albuquerque and Roanoke, TX. All drop and hook and ready to go. We are going to try to fit in 5 or 6 before I head home again for my reset. Sometimes short hauls aren't so bad, lol.

This is my first post. I have been driving for Stevens for over a year. I paid my loan back ASAP. I will tell anyone reading this that isn't a driver yet DO NOT come to Stevens. Stevens has been an Awful life experience.

The only way you make money is too Hustle. I mean wake up real early before your DM comes in and start running...lol. They Love repowers. I always turn them down for the most part, unless it's getting someone home. They plan there loads on a real tight scedule, so once you get going it's straight 11's till you get to the final. No play time or else the load wil be late and it's going to the next guy. I honestly don't mind this so much except for all your hard work the only reward is a paycheck absolultly nothing else...NO RESPECT

I have been jacked around on hometime everytime I want to go home. As I write this I have been out for a month and am supposed to be home in a week. They are alreay telling me they can't guaruntee they'll get me home for the specific date. I don't get it, I drive for 35-40 days, I give a months notice and they always screw it up. They are greedy liars.

Stevens does not respect the drivers. Don't let these pro Stevens guys fool you. When I went through the school they seriously put alot of pressure on the whole class to go alliance/ lease a truck. I refused and they called me for 9 months begging me to sign a lease. It was Pathetic.

Here is the bottom line, I work real hard. I drive for a month straight. I expect to be treated fairly and honestly Stevens can't ever do the right thing. They are the worse job I have ever had. I am quitting shortly.:biggrin_25513:

If you make poor decisions for yourself that could happen.

there's not one person that is in the working profession that isn't one step away from being homeless or unemployed, so don't think because you do everything right in your mind it can't happen to you. good luck.

Well, I think the pay is just fine. Since I signed the lease I have averaged .42 cpm. Yes, getting home on a specific date can be a pain. I will give you that. But short trips? I have had some short trips but for the most part its nice long trips and my weekly totals show that. Three weeks ago my miles were 486, 662 and 2229 total for the week 3377. Two weeks ago was 1 trip 2507. Last week was 741, 589 and 677 and I went home for 2 days. Total 2007. Slack week but came back on Tuesday and this week i did a 598 mile run and now Im on a 2900 mile run. Ill have a total of 3498 this week.

wow it sounds like it didnt take long for the office techie to counter your truth about stevens.(Corpal Kleg) More people complain about this stater company then any other. I sure would hate to work for a company that I have to defend everyday. Unless that was my job like corp cleg.

Now there's a boatload of crap!
Where do you get your numbers? Out of thin air!
Show me the polls, the data.
    Just because you say so?
Every company has detractors. Every company has people that love it.
People like you simply lurk in the sidelines to parrot the comments made by those that it didn't work out for.
I'm doing fine. I'm a lease operator. I'll end this year in the low 50's and have been home every time I've asked.
But that doesn't count for complainers, does it?
