Good tip- I stopped a minor fuel leak and plugged a hole in the tank with a roll of that gray "Aluminum Epoxy" stuff. It held for years 'till the truck was traded off. -
I could understand not knowing it, but when he pulled on the fuel island he should of noticed it. That tells me he was a fuel island shopper that didn't even buy any fuel. It also tells me he's a driver that doesn't pay attention to detail. Most would notice if their AC is dripping let alone a fuel leak.
The fuel island is the safest place to be as it is designed to contain spilled fuel. If it's a clean puncture, even a stick would slow it down. A gash, maybe use a rag to slow it down. JBWeld works good, but only small leaks on a clean dry surface. It'll go in the hole, but it has nothing to hold on to on a big puncture. -
I remember about 15 years ago in the UK I have a minor leak on a fuel tank, was at out yard.
The mechanic said oh I will stop it dripping untill I get it in shop later, he started to put a self tapping screw in the hole, the tank was so rusty my minor leak turned into a gusher with the screwdriver disapearing into the tank... -
I had a small leak a few years back. I pulled the tank drained it and had it welded. The dummies never pressure tested it and when I got home it still had a small leak. There was no way I was taking it back there so I put some "Water Weld" on it. It's basically JB made for water applications. Anyways it has held for about three years now. -
would be nice to know where and when this happepend. Lots of truck stops/ fuel stops all over North America

I keep a tube with me at all times. It has thousands of uses. fuel tanks, radiators, leaks in air tanks. even air lines.dave26027 Thanks this.

witch is better the aluminum epoxy or jb weld? more applications ect.. -
if you have a very small crack that is just seeping fuel, rubbing soap on it will temporarily seal it. I guy told me that a long time ago, and I never really believed it until I was parked next to a driver with a leak and it worked.
