the Wilson silverload fgt is obviously better than the flex... power wise...

But what if i hit something with it? Will it snap whereas the flex wont?

im gonna put it on my pickup, and i go offroading, im concerned... i mean its low speeds and all.... but does the FGT(-4) have flex to it?

The regular Silverload will NOT flex very much. It is a good antenna but, flexibility is not the best. Are you running a regular "barefoot" radio ??? If so I thing the flex would make a better choice for you . Another antenna that works pretty good for tree limbs etc. is a Half breed antenna . It has a small load at the bottom and a stainless steel whip that will give & sway.:biggrin_25519:

I wouldn't worry about breaking the silver load. Ive forgoten mine was on my pick up many times. Can you say car port with a 5 footer...? A few garages, many a tree limb even? It will bend more than you think...

thanks, i had actually thought about it, my bud has a fiberglass it bends if it needs too.. its like im gonna be flying anywhere where it can hit something... so i doubt it will snap off road .. going what ... 20mph ... not only that but ive only knocked over my crappy magnet mount 2 times

I've had my wilsons for 2 years now. Many limbs later still holding up. I mean limbs at 55+mph. (The were drooping over the road) So I think you will be ok.

OooooOOoo, now parkign garages are a bit different. I don't know the height of some you might be in, but the ones Ive been in, virtually any antenna will probably get broken . Best to install it in a way that can be lowered when needed. (I can take one bolt out of mine and swivel it back for example)
