Saw that Kenworth has a Clean Power system on their new trucks which basically states that you don't have to idle to run small appliances and the air conditioning.

To those that have this in their trucks, is it as good as they claim? Whats been your experience with it?

I dunno, but I saw the setup and god am I glad I don't own one!!!! I couldn't inagine how much just the exhaust system itself would cost if it happend to crack. Its a confusing mess.. the fat stacks look better.. but its a mess... wait.. are you talking about their new emissions thing or a generator?

Its kinda like the nite system. Its not related to new emissions or a generator. But basically instead of having a generator the Kenworth comes with a seperate battery system that is charged while you are driving. Then at night when you shut down, those batteries run an AC in the sleeper and can power minor appliances without idling. Was just wondering if the power output has proven sufficient to keep cool and power a laptop or TV without idling.

    Here is a video

I don't think it comes with a separate battery system. It's just a cheap imitation of what they really need to offer. I am not familiar enough with RV's to know how they work, I just know they work and they should goto a system similar to that. Instead of developing new technologies, when everything they need is already on the shelf. I should just sit down and build my own rig, market it, beta it, and see how it works.

It IS a separate battery system, using deep cycle batteries. The existing batteries in the truck aren't going to run your A/C for 10 hours.
