Hey BriFar, Congrats, I'm supposed to start my orientation on 8/3 as well. I can't offer any advice, but, have found a lot of useful info on here.

Who is your recruiter?

I have read that on our first or second day, we are suppose to do a Pre-work screen and if your heart rate is higher than it should be after doing typical physical actions pertaining to a typical work day, you would be asked to come back. I'm sure we'll be fine, but, that's what I read on here.

I'm also starting with Schneider in Fontana on the 3rd. See you there!

Congrats to you as well pumaman. Do you know where they have you set up at?

I have heard that once orientation is completed (is it 3 weeks or so?) that you are only with a mentor driver for 5 to 15 days depending on your skill level. That seems an awefully short period of time as compared to places like Stevens or Swift that have you drive with a mentor for up to 6 weeks.....or did I misread something on Schneider's website?

I've heard several different people posting different timeframes as well. To my understanding, after orientation, you go out for UP to 14 days. You are suppose to be taught all the usual things but most of all, they are evaluating your ability to drive the vehicle because if the trainer feels you are capable, you would head back to your OC to do your SQT. Once you pass that is when you get assigned your truck. I know some places, you are out for 6 weeks or so and I can definitely see and understand why that is to some degree. But, 6 weeks out with a trainer that could be your worst nightmare and having to share a space no bigger than your bathroom? I don't know. I guess you just gotta ask all the questions you can within the the two week period and remember the answers. I also read that if you are out 2 weeks and you do not pass your SQT, they would send you back out, but, I cannot confirm that.

How many orientation centers are there? I see ya'll are going to Fontana, where would a Houston TX guy go? Have ya'll found your recruiters to be somewhat accurate and honest?
Tractor154 Thanks this. -
Hey OSCBRADLEY, I'm not sure how many OC's SNI has, but, on their website, they have a few. Not sure how updated they are, but, would imagine it's pretty accurate. I've read a lot of posts on here that we should believe at the most..HALF of what recruiters tell us and that in actuality, we should ask all the questions no matter how annoying or technical they may be and see how they answer our questions and by their tone of voice or level of irritation if any. As far as where you would go for orientation, I think it depends on what region you apply for. Not sure on that though. I would imagine they would send you to the closest to your region, but then again, I think it is where you would be working. I hope that helps. Again, my answers are based on what I have read on here from numerous posts in different categories.
