At one time Landstar had an office in Dallas just off of south highway 67 where they held orientation.

There should not be a contract for bobtail insurance. I believe the last time I had bobtail it was month to month. You should be able to cancel it at any time.

If you're leasing onto LS and just need temp. Bobtail insurance, (as LS requires you to have BT ins through them), get with OOIDA. You'll get Property Dmg ins through them, (cheaper than LS and req'd for OOIDA's temp Bobtail insurance) OOIDA will get you temp BT ins for 75$ for 10 days.

Plenty of time to get your LS inspection and on their ins.

and don't forget to put reflective tape on the back of your cab and make sure your mudflaps don't flap in the wind. texas will pull you over if they aren't doing anything.

Are you buying from a dealer?, or private sale?, if by a dealer they will give you a transport tag that will go in the window, I did this when i bought my truck out of Iowa, and drove it to NV.

Landstar requires unladen liability instead of bobtail insurance, or did. It is almost the same thing. They cannot legally require you to purchase insurance through them. They do offer it, but you can get your insurance from anyone you choose. If you plan to lease to Landstar and want to get insurance through OOIDA, make sure you tell them where you will be leasing on.

Driver put a piece of paper in the window and gas on it. Your bob-tailing have you ever seen DOT mess with a bob-tail. You could also by-pass the scales.

Not wise, when I bought my truck and drove it home, i had to go into open scales, and they checked for a moving permit, putting a peice of paper wont do, Go to a local DMV and see if they can help with a temp
