I noticed a lot of drivers idling on my last trip to California. Perhaps enforcement is lax because the CHP and other LEO's feel they have better things to do than enforce Communist Air Resources Board regs.

i'd like to add this to the discussion: Recently we've been hearing about moms being prosecuted for leaving their babies/children in the car in the heat.

Hello? It's not ok to leave a kid in the car BECAUSE???

Well if you got one of those really cooooooool certified clean idle stickers you can get away with it. So I hear I wish the entire state would finally shake itself into the pacific so I do not risk going there.

Some had the sticker, some didn't. I heard the sticker wasn't a green light to idle, some say yes. I'd like to see something in writing either way. Its kind of irrelevant in my case since my truck is an '04 and has no sticker.

Look at the ATRI link note the Ca lo Nox sticker exemption. Thats all they are talking about if you have the DPF filters and regen. Since those became prominent guys tell me the idle nazi's quit loooking so hard. Before an idling truck stuck out like a sore thumb now not so much.

Only time I have ever had a problem was once in New York and he warned me if he came back I would get a ticket. I told him write it now and save yourself the trip. Never saw him or the ticket.

I don't give a #### about the stupid ### idle laws, if I need to idle to be comfortable i'm gonna do it regardless, haven't had any trouble so far and if I ever do you can bet i'm gonna fight it.. As far as california goes, there is a simple solution, don't go to that hell hole..
