This was my first thought and I had even started typing almost this exact reply when I realized something. I think the driver was not cooking in the truck, but that the fire extinguisher was under his bed so he couldn't get to it to extinguish the fire outside the truck. I'm not sure but I believe this is what the original poster meant.

I've had a Foreman grill at home for about 10 years now. All I've ever done to clean it is wad up a piece of paper towel, soak it in water and wipe down the grill while it's still hot. Works great. The fat and charred bits go into the drip tray, then I pour it into an old tin can I keep in the freezer. The grease solidifies within minutes so there's no danger of it spilling out as you drive.

Cleaning the grill this way is the same method used by restaurants to keep their grills clean during the day.

Naw, that guy with the charcoal grill in the truck was trying to keep warm cause his Co. wouldn't let him idle. But seriously, I plan on taking my grill on the road. Seems like the perfect thing to have during a reset. Couple steaks, beer on ice. Get some lizard to stand there and nag you.... Almost like being home.

I had a friend of mine who died doing that many years ago. Don't use a charcoal pit in a confined area.

You know it sounds great to Barbque and cook cool stuff,But I don't hang around enough to do a barbque. When I want a hot meal I stay at the T/A when I'm running hard and saving cash I just make myself a sandwich supplies that I bought at wally world or the grocery store. I buy a some milk and have bowl of ceral in the am. I dont drink soda just lots of water. I do worry about my weight cause I see a lot of Truckers that have Huge Guts. I don't work out like I did when before I drove truck. I do have a bar bell that I use but I need to walk more. Oh and since I'm away from my wife My right fore arm is getting bulked up.
