Are owner-operators interested in discount side skirts?
We are in the advertising business and I am noticing side skirts on fleets.
If we get advertisers to pay some (not all) of the cost of the skirt, how interested would you and other o/o's be?
This only makes sense for someone who is considering side skirts anyway.
The skirts wouldn't be free, just heavily discounted from an msrp of $2100 (includes installation). How big a discount would you need to carry an ad on a skirt you'd consider buying anyway? That's what I want you to tell me.
To pre-empt those questions I know are racing through your mind:
Don't worry, the ads wouldn't be embarassing or dumb, they'd be relevant to other highway travelers, like billboards. You choose which ad you want and see a picture of the skirt with the ad before you buy it.
The skirts are good quality from a major manufacturer with multi-year warranty, no p.o.s. Chinese knockoffs.
Besides if/how much you'd pay, please share any other info you think I should know.

I personally would buy them if they were discounted enough but I know there are a lot of guys that would not.
Side Skirts Thanks this. -
Would the price you pay depend on the ad?
$1500 - Harley Davidson ad
$500 - 7-11 ad
$Couldn't pay you enough - Preparation H ad -
For me personally it would have to be something pretty offensive to not put it on there. As long as it looks like a professional ad and not a personal endorsement of some random product then it wouldn't matter what it was.

wouldn't have them on MY truck (just me) i don't even like having lease to on my truck
puncher Thanks this. -
What about just the skrits? 5-7% fuel savings pays the cost back in a hurry.

my volvo 780 has full skirts and next month i will be adding the NEW volvo cab extensions.

I guess the first thing I think of is how will this be monitored? If I were to get $1000 of the price, then a few hours of peeling decals or $20 worth of rattle cans and bingo, new skirts.

For the right price I will advertise kotex pads!!

I haul both, skirted and non. I don't see any fuel savings, but I do notice a lot more trailer action with side winds.
I did see someone who made their own side skirts the other day, out of I swear a sears metal shed.
