Hello, could someone from NC help me understand why I have the restriction L (No air brakes) on my permit? I passed that portion of the test.

I'm not from NC, but either you didn't pass, their records indicate you didn't pass or someone made a mistake. Did you ask this question to the folks that made the mistake?
The last tests I took they wrote the score on the paperwork. Should be easy enough to correct. -
I know for a fact that I passed that portion. I took the General, Combination, and Air Brakes sections and passed all three. I searched this forum and apparently the mistake has been made a couple of times.
Possibly the reason was because the attendant was talking on the phone and looking at her nails instead of paying attention to her job when she handed me my slip??? Unfortunately, I had to hurry out the door to get back to work and didn't take a good look at the permit until this evening. -
there shouldnt be any restrictions on it unless your under 21 then it will say intra-state only

I'll call them in the morning but I am guessing it is going to be another trip down there and of course, standing in line when I could be working.

i dont know where in NC you are but I go all the way out to Mt Holly, NC and im in and out in uner 5 minutes EVERY time, rather then stand in line for 6 hours starting at 7am in Charlotte lol

Ah I wish I was over that way but I am in South Raleigh which means I get to go to Garner, NC DMV. Tuesday through Thursday they are empty but Fridays they are packed. One of the reasons I went today. Hopefully it will be just a phone call but if I have to go down there I'll raise #### if I have to stand in line for two hours.

In Florida my b cdl will not show the air brake endorsement. If you don't have it will read "no air brake"

Just got back from the DMV. They did make a mistake. Apparently it happens a lot and this is a recurring problem with their computers that has been going on for FIVE years.
So, heads up to NC folks looking into getting their permit: Double check that permit for the "L" restriction after you get it. If you passed, it should not be on there.
Oh, and I didn't have to wait!

when I took combination permit test about 2 weeks ago for my "A" permit, I didn't look to closely. Went to a school the next week to take my test, they told me the permit was for a "B" license. I all ready had my "B", was trying to upgrade to an "A". Walked in to DMV an hour later, asked the receptionist about it, she took the permit and my license back to one the girls. Had it fixed in 2 minutes. Fastest I have ever been in and out of the DMV down here in FL.
