IDK orientation must be different depending on where you go, cause mine is a week long, 7 days, when we get done on Friday, we go home for the weekend and wait for a call from out training engineer and then go out on the road with them for 7-10, then we have to pass an skills test before we can get issued our own truck.

Congrats and good luck!! To my understanding, the first week is half class and half driving. After that, you go out with your TE anywhere between 5 to 14 days and then you head back to your OC for your SQT. Upon passing your SQT, you will then be assigned a truck.:biggrin_25525:

I don't find anything boring per say, but I am eager to pass my tests(tomorrow I test out, and if I pass, get my driver #).

I will tell you one thing, get a lot of sleep, it is a lot of information they throw at you in a very short amount of time, and you will have homework every night. Get your homework done, grab some food, relax for a bit, then get some sleep, it will make things 10 times worse if you are tired all day long.

And to all of you truckers out there, I had NO idea how much paperwork was involved with being a trucker, LOL wow!

Thanks. When you mention paperwork...How much are you talking about and what kind of things are they asking for?

I am talking about paperwork you have to fill out on a daily basis while your working. Paperwork you have to fill out every time you pick up a load, every time you drop a load, scan this, fax that, save this, keep this in your truck, log that, LOL you get the idea.......I almost feel like I am doing paperwork more than I will be driving! I know its not that bad, but it feels like it.

I see. I wonder what's worse in terms of paperwork, a Police Officer or a Truck Driver. LOLOL:biggrin_25523:

If you mean the motel, that's the Best Western Ontario Airport.

There was always plenty of paperwork in the military, so I shouldn't have a problem with that. Also I"m not worried about my heart rate as I run a few times a week.

I was at the OC in Fontana today and met with my recriter Paul Brock. He took me around the facility and introdced me to some people. I was told that they have changed theirtime periods to the following. 1 week orientation at OC, and 1 week out with a trainer. Then come back to OC then get your truck and off you go. It looks like my orientation should be the week of the 3rd as well.

what no tanker trainees ? i am gonna be at coreopilis pa on the 11th i hope . Anyhow should be fun training. does scare me a little that SNI only does a few weeks of training. I honestly dont think it's long enough. Kind of funny I had a kid from SNI only 22 yrs old on his first load in wisconsin and it snowed bad. Anyhow he had the most awful time bumping a 45 degree angle dock and I drove for Swift then and I gave him a hand getting it docked . Thiunk because there were no lines to look at on the pavement he got a lil freaked out i think. All good we gotta learn somewhere , somehow ...so if u goin tanker give me a shout.
