You call it BS. I call it a great way for people to get into Canada and be productive members of our society.

The "door opening" and subsequent rampant immigration to Canada is a political tactic first utilised in a such a huge way by PET. It guarantees votes by grateful new Canadians.

Er, Harper has been in power for a very long time now. He's got Jason Kenney running around the country catering to immigrants and the rest of his cabinet running around catering to large corporations. Blaming a man who left politics decades ago and has been dead for years for the policies and practices of the present government seems a little off.

The reality is that this government doesn't care about you unless you're a corporate CEO. Never mind what they say, look at what they do. If you're driving a truck, you aren't a corporate CEO. So vote for somebody else next time. They likely won't be any better, but one can always hope.

LOL....shik I remember when all us flatdeckers were white guys, with normal caps on. I think the trucking industry is a great place to work, but you need to have a management that fully understands it. The problem today is that so many young guns are climbing the ladder too fast without the experience. They think they know it but you know what....they don't have a clue.

There wouldnt be such a big driver shortage if it werent for most companies hiring all experienced drivers! If more companies would hire student drivers and match them to a current experienced driver so that the new drivers could get more experience with the help of a seasoned driver then they would have alot more good experienced drivers a yr or 2 down the road.

I think they should actually shut the door on immigration for awhile.

    Why?

I would leave it at just "Why?", but you need at least 10 characters to post.
