That is the one thing that scared me a little with Schneider, I am not tanker, but I just graduated orientation and am at home awaiting the call from my driver engineer.
I asked the trainers at orientation why theirs was so short, 1 week at orientation and 1-2 weeks with a trainer, and exact words were "we can tell if your a safe driver in a few weeks, if you need more time to adjust, we will work with you and get it for you."
So basically, yea, the training is only a few weeks, unless you need more, then you will get more.
Good luck!

sounds reasonable enough to me lol ...

Im going tanker so maybe its a little longer? -
I am sure it is longer for tanker, so that is it. You have to drive a tanker a bit differently than a dry box, plus all the other stuff that comes along with a tanker.mpow66m Thanks this.

To all of you leaving for training on 8/3 I wish ya'll the best, wish I was there with you but gotta finish my time in the military, 19 years in so can't quit now LOL!!....my time will come soon enough. Hopefully ya'll plan on updating us on how things are going in training, again, I wish you the best and I look forward to following your posts.

Do any of you guys starting in Fontana on the 3rd need a team partner? I'm looking for a non-smoker who won't mind me trying to get in a workout (run) every two or three days. I'd plan it so that I'd be able to shower right afterward!
Otherwise, I'm easy to get along with, and will do my share of the work. I'm 49 and in good shape. Music wise, I prefer rock to hip-hop or country.Last edited: Aug 1, 2011

Hey pumaman, I sent you a PM -
Well, after two days of orientation I realized that I really didn't want to drive over the road (at all) after all. I got worried that even the minimum 6 months (if I was lucky) might make me lose my sanity. Everybody is different. When I was younger I probably would have handled it fine. Oh well, lesson learned. Good luck to the rest of you.

So I take it Fontana, CA. is where they send you for orientation if you live in the "11 western"?

depends on where you live, could go to Portland, French Camp or Fontana
