I know a place you can run reefers. Insurance sucks for the first year, safestat score is awful, no corporate culture of safety, but the elog manager is top of the line. Just ask me, I'll tell you good things about him.
Anyone been hurt at work???

I'm sure you do think he is all that... I was trying to talk my oldest son into comming back with me, just for a year. He finally said that he was going to keep doing what he is doing, paramedic... I thought he would like to get away from the stress, but I guess not. I'm not sure about the reefer thing. I'm not sure about anything at this point. I guess I am going back to Roehl for some period of time, how that goes will determine the lenght of time. I have already talked to Adam, he is glad I am comming back. I go back to the doc on Aug 9th, I guess I will find out then when I will be able to go back. If things with Roehl don't pan out, then I'm not sure what I will do then.

So starting everyday with exercises to target the muscles in my neck and upper back and chest, hoping that will help stabilize this fusion as it takes hold here over the next several months. Not to mention after my morning routine, I seem to have more energy through the entire day.
-
Hope it works out for you. I know that when you're in pain, it saps your energy levels. Now that the surgery is over, I fully expect that you'll be back out here as soon as the doctors release you. Just time to get off curtain and flats and move over to the "old man" fleet with the rest of us....

It's not so bad, really, just have to learn how to back up straight all over again.... ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

Heck you don't need to be that straight lol I send ya a pic of my 0415 park job this morning. Lol looks like I'm a /...lol

Pa- bummer on the kid not wanting to come out. Good that your fm still remembers you. Some days mine acts like they don't know me. Glad to see you've found some rejunivination of energy. I'm gonna get mine by going inane having an everything ommlette in celebratory fashion of your energy relocation. Then tomorrow is the start of 1 diet soda a day and a lot of water. Its tough drinking water since the bladder is so tiny. Lol laps around the truck stops and parking areas will commence.
I really think id enjoy leasing onto Roehl. That walk away option is a grabber. I don't know of any companies that do that. My wife wont love the idea of me being otr forever but I just feel like I should make every attempt to make the most I can. What you think? -
You have to have a very good business head to make in trucking, ask Preacher or any of these other guys... You really have to be disciplened with spending and saving, even when you are "off" you are still doing stuff for your taxes, or making small repairs to the truck. Don't get me wrong, I loved owning my own truck, but sometimes it is to easy to see that 15k sitting in the savings account, and momma wants a new car or a pool... Then the truck breaks and your in over your head. It is a little different with a lease, they make you save money for repairs, but you still need to keep money aside for insurance both for the truck and for you and your family. The best situation is for the spouse to work, and get health insurance through your spouse, that is a huge savings over having to go and buy it yourself. I used to have all my insurance truck and health through OOIDA. You need to do alot of homework before you make the leap. Roehl's lease program is better than most, but just start watching the amount on the fuel pump everytime you fill up. That will come out of your pocket, rather than theirs. If you are good at getting a high MPG, and you don't idle you can do okay with the fuel surcharge, but you just need to do all the numbers. Ask these guys on here how much it costs for them to take the truck down the road. I'm guessing about .75cpm at least, plus you are paying your own social security taxes, all of it, and your own quarterly income tax. There is also the 2290 for the truck every year, in addition the federal taxes on your small bizz... Like I said do you homework, if it make sense then give it a try.

June 2011................... Monthly / CPM / % of Rev
Total Variable Costs............ ( $5,398 ) / 60.43 / 45.54%
Total Expense................ ($8,082) / 90.46 / 68.19%
NET INCOME B4 TAX............ $3,771 / 42.25 / 31.81%
Theres a few numbers for the month of june. it was a slower month for me cause i was sick for a whole week but still. I have no problem showing a profit and loss statement to you if you wanna see the raw numbers. but ultimately u see its .42 cpm is what I'm actually making and thats before any taxes or S.S. is paid. PAOLDSCHOOL described it the best thats for sure!paoldschool Thanks this. -
And those figures are typical for a Lease operation. The variables (fuel) figures directly affect your net profit. That's the most glaring reason for increasing your MPG. The closer you get to 8 MPG, the less you have to dip into your base to make up the difference between the base and the Fuel Surcharge.

very true, usually on a good month i get about 7.x ish
