I am also leaning toward BTC. I have to let them know by the 5th if i want to attend orientation on the 11th. What is their training program like? Team training or does the trainer stay awake while you drive the whole 6 weeks? What kind of home time did you get while you were training?

Do they hire from technical schools? If so, how long do you stay out with a trainer?

I guess if I went to their website first I could have answered my own question!

    STUDENT DRIVER PAY PACKAGE
    • Students will be paid $300.00 per week while in training
    • Also once training is completed and the student driver passes all required testing, he/she will start at $.35 per mile loaded or empty, and after 1 year of employment with BTC the student will then earn $.42 per mile loaded or empty.
    TRAINING PROGRAM TIMELINE

    • Student will spend the first 3 days receiving classroom instruction and hands on securement lab training.
    • The student will then be assigned to the over the road trainer for a minimum of 4 weeks. The student must be willing to stay away from home a minimum of 4 weeks while with the trainer unless the trainer lives near the location of the student. BTC will cover the expense of the student's hotel stays over the weekends.

I guess i just wanted to confirm everything that has been said by the guys that are/have worked for BTC. Everything they said is spot on. I worked for them a little over 2 years. I started with them fresh out of CDL school. I don't know if they still do this, but they payed/reimbursed all my tuition (a little every month). I grossed 44 K on my first full year W2 form. I was only an "average" driver in terms of miles per week. Decent money, but you really have to be willing to WORK for it, throwing straps, chains, and tarps.

I thought that the training was ok, but not great. If you want top notch training, go with TMC or Maverick. You will drive team with your trainer, and he will likely sleep while you drive, at least some.

Overall, I think BTC was a good company to start with, but I'm not sure I would recommend them to an experienced driver.

8 macks? Hmm, actually there are at least 50 and there has been several more added including the 25 prostars. Yes, still mainly a fleet of freightliners, but theyre slowly replacing all of them with macks. They cant garuntee you a mack so get over it.

I have been with BTC since september of last year and. I haven't looked back. You will make real good money here. I have the option to get home every week. I got a brand new 2012 mack and its a great truck. It does have the mack engine and pulls hills great! You can be loaded heavy and you can barely tell. If you don't make money here, there is something wrong with YOU

I love it here. This only the second company I have ever worked for. In september I will have been with the company for a year. Unlike my last company I feel like I have options. I would tell anyone to give it a try. You make at least 700 a week and get home every weekend sometimes during the week. Who wouldn't be happy?
