Don't drive it, for all the reasons above. But especially with brake problems. If you have an accident, especially one with injuries or death YOU will be facing prison time. You have a CDL and it is YOUR responsibility to pretrip your truck and refuse to drive it with life threatening problems.

Tell your boss you can keep all of your appointments! All he has to do is rent a large flat bed truck and trailer to haul around his truck everyplace he needs it to go! Or, FIX IT!

update....well he came to me today and asked if I could go and check the scales...and what was my thoughts on driving the truck...I said right off the bat....No it's illegal to drive it....He said I know but do you think it's safe enough...we just need to get these done today and I will fix the truck...I told him NO...it's my butt in the seat not his...he was pissed....said he would go and do it...when I got back from my other duties for the day...truck was still sitting there...he never went and drove it...and found out he ordered the parts to take it back and have everything repaired...So we will see what tomorrow holds.....

Good for you. If the guy is going to be in the business, he better get use to doing things right. The reason we have all these laws are from people like him.
-
I would not drive a vehicle that I knew the brakes were bad. Brakes and hubs are usually not that expensive. In any case, it is less expensive than having an accident where someone could be injured or killed.
BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
That's what a pro would do. Recognize that YOU have a responsibility to yourself and the public to drive a safe truck in a safe manner. Sometimes it might cost you a job but in the long run you will be a better driver for it. Been there done that a couple of times.
