    Hello Sirs,

I want to know the differences among these systems for big trucks.

Which one is more convenient for a fleet?

Maybe I am missing the point. I would pay a little more and hire drivers that could stay between the lines.

While I may be wrong, I don't think you will find a lot of people on an owner/operator's forum that will be in favor of this idea.

For the most part, we are fed up with regulations, electronics and officials breathing down our necks trying to help us do our jobs.

I believe if companies would increase their qualifications and then spend enough money on driver wages to get and keep qualified drivers, they wouldn't need this kind of stuff to protect their investments.

How much per vehicle does this equipment cost? Does your company pay a safety bonus and how much?

Thank you, it costs around $900 per vehicle. And no bonus...

I'm happy to provide any information that would be helpful to the members here regarding our safety systems. While we understand the position of hiring qualified drivers, it only takes an instant of distraction on the part of even the best driver for a situation to become potentially dangerous. Our systems provide a driver with Lane Departure Warning, Following Time Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and even Pedestrian Detection Warning if desired, all for around $600 per truck depending on volume. For the cost of a tank of fuel you can get a collision avoidance system that can potentially prevent a very expensive incident.

Feel free to contact me via PM if I can provide any additional information.

Iteris has recently sold this component of their company to Bendix. Here are the basic differences between that system and Mobileye's.

Iteris' system only offers a lane departure alert. The Mobileye systems offer Lane Departure Warning, Following Time Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Pedestrian Detection Warning, all in one engineered package. The Iteris system has external speakers and a large black box that are invasive to the cab of the truck while the Mobileye components are compact and can be easily tucked beneath the dash. And the Mobileye systems provide all 4 of those functions often times at a lower price than the single function Iteris product.

Additionally, Mobileye's technology is what's being used by over 80% of the automakers offering driver assistance systems. They choose it for its accuracy, detection capability, and cost effectiveness.

You're welcome to contact us at 818-706-3700 or contact us via our website at mobileye.com for further details on our product lineup.

Thank you. How do you explain Iteris dominant market share in heavy transportation?

Iteris has been in the market since the mid-90's, while Mobileye has been offering our fleet product only since 2007 (we'd been primarily a supplier to the automakers prior to that). Results since both products have been available to fleets are much different. Iteris has just divested that business for $14M total.
