My clutch pedal has an annoying rattling sound when pulling a hill or at cruising speed (60-65). No extra play or problems with clutch, just one hell of an annoying sound. Is this the throw out bearing, noise damper, anyone out there know how I could fix this? Thanks. 99 KW. Also, when I put any pressure on the clutch (not engaging, just apply very minimal pressure), the sound goes away.

not sure about kdubs--but on fliners there is an anti rattle kit you can get to take the rattle out of the linkage--its really just a bracket and a spring iirc---but it does work

Just went through this last week on my 03. Your return spring has broken for your clutch pedal. The spring is located directly behind your steering column and is mounted vertically. If you reach up through the access hole directly in front of where your clutch linkage goes through the floor you will probably feel it hanging there loose.

The bad news: looks like a ##### to replace....not much room there.

    The good news: cheap fix

You can also attach a bungee cord to the external clutch linkage under the cab to temporarily keep some tension on the pedal to keep it from vibrating and rattling.

Being a 99,ur forks are worn at the throwout bearing. When u replace the clutch, replace the fork and the rattle should go away.

Replaced clutch, fork, input shaft, all bushings. Still the same noise!!!!! I am afraid I just took my first screwjob as an owner operator. Haven't been able to locate the return spring by the linkage. Any other suggestions?? I am just sick about the 1400 bucks I spent and the noise is still there.

u may have to take the bottom plates off the dash to see the spring. its easy just a few screws.

New clutch. 60 bucks per hour labor. Can't beat that. Forks were worn and replaced, but didn't solve the problem. Rural shop that I have heard excellent things about from several O/O friends, thought I would give them a shot. Lowest quote I got from Minneapolis was 1900 bucks.

Maybe if I had spent 110 an hour, the rattle would be gone!!!!!
