Anybody use these guys to rebuild an ecm? Looking to find a Det. 60 IV ecm for a Shaker rebuilt or a good reconditioned one. Any input would be great, thanks!
There are two ways of rebuilding ECMs.... the first - change faulty parts
the other - use core and connectors only and put new board it. Some Chenese ECM makers make ECMs for DD, CAT and Cummins, but inside ECMs are different, nothing sharing with old ones, made fully with new parts and new technologies, but they require "genue Chenese software" to calibrate.
I used to fix DEEC-IV. film inside.
The typical fault of this ECM is memory corrosion. Usuall there are bad tracks under FLASH and EEPROM. I used to change chips and repare tracks with thin wires.
