Having been a Ham for over 50 years I know a few things about antennas and how to properly install and maintain them.

Yip sure did. I also took all my test, except my novice, before the FCC office in downtown KC. Took the tech at 5wpm and general/advance at 13 wpm. I took the general and advanced at the same time.

That is why I don't have an Extra Class. By the time I got around to taking the test they no long gave it at the FCC office. And I have a hang up about not taking it before the FCC.

I also went before "God" and took the 1st Phone exam. Thought about getting the Second Class Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate but never got around to it.

Before my stroke I worked cw at round 35-40 wpm.

I spent 22 years taking care of my son so the 80's and 90's were too messed up to do a bunch of Hamming ... He is now in a home and will remain there for the rest of his life .....

My tests because of problems with the local clubs I wound up as did my brother taking then at the FCC office on New York like you did the FCC 1st class also had to be taken there ... to me no problem ... and NO CHEATING.

Code ..... I was up to about 15 WPM and still can do about 5 but my day starts at 4 AM and goes to about midnight and by the time he was grown
they had drop it back to 5WPM so it was not high on my lists of things to do ... ALL my radios have CW filters and I have good keys .... It a great weak signal mode along with PSK-31. I thought they would keep code for the EXTRA but the FCC had other ideas.

Work is steady we have right now about 1500 radios to keep running I have about 25 strip down for board repairs and I'm happy it kills time nicely.

Right now as time permits I run nets on 2 SSB and try to get some time on other bands I have worked my older brother on HF and tried to work my younger brother but he is limited to mobile right now.

Sorry to hear about your stroke Age is no fun Being Diabetic and having retena lazering 7 times to hold down the bleeding I know how you feel.

Sometime I'll try and catch up with you on HF ......
