I finished orientation on thursday. I leave out with my trainer tomorrow.
I believe a student is only required to drive 6 hours every day for 6 weeks. If the student drives longer, he/she finishes the training faster. This will depend on the trainer of course. The trainer/mentor is required to observe and comment on various things you do, so ya the teaming cannot fully be done, in theory.

Like they said $3500 - $4000 in a separate trucking school is the best route. You won't be tied to any trucking company and if things don't work well you can move on. With a company sponsored school you are signing a contract for almost a year to a year sometimes.

    TruckinBro and the Group:

I always go to the local Army and Navy store to get my Trucking bags. I always use two 36" X 12" olive drab tube packs with backpack straps on them. They will cost You around $20-25. Other than that I will always line the bottom of them with two military tube tent size bags. These will allow You to just throw together anything that You have laying around, including the smaller tube bags into these, but You will have to pay extra to ship these larger bags on the Greyhound package express.

I always have a separate shower bag for soap and clothing and then a drawstring laundry bag. It is always good to have different colored drawstring bags for clean laundry and used laundry. I have a Cannondale Tressle bag that I carry my nuts and snacks in and a couple of cans of clam chowder It has a front pack for carrying shavers and toothpaste in as well as the energy shooters.

It's Good to carry a Laptop bag and some extra ethernet cables, 12V adaptor and Your camera connection wires. I have an extra USB modem and an extension cable to make sure that I can catch the weak signals if necessary.

your post makes no sense. the first 50 hours are one on one. So a trainer can't drive after the student drives his max hours.

CBs are allowed. They are not provided.

Regarding bags: I use a Navy issued sea bag for my laundry. I can stuff a lot into it, it folds up and fits about anywhere and it's durable. The Army issued something about as large, but with zippers and more like a soft sided suitcase. I think they nicknamed them "gorilla" bags.

Because too many of Swift's CBs got stolen.

I have not heard they'll install it, but it doesn't take an electrical engineer to do.

Yeah easy to do put as a company driver driving a company issue truck,I wouldn't mess with it unless they say other wise.I think I read on here somewhere that they will install it but I don't remember now.

Injun this may be a lil off topic.. But if you purchase your own cb, I see some that go up to like 25amps altered.. Are theses legal to have in your truck?

Technically, if you are going to follow the letter of the law, no. 4 amps is supposedly the limit. However, with a little bench tune, almost any CB can be turned up to 25 amp. No additional extras are needed. The FCC couldn't care less that you had your radio "peaked and tuned" at the shop. They don't get involved until you're melting other people's radios when you key up. 25 amp won't do that.
