    I'm sorry....I had to laugh....the "headline" sounds like a lonely-hearts club intro!

Can't help you much on the pet, but I'm sure others will be around soon...good luck!

Forget the dog right now. Consentrate on learning as much as you can.

Get some driving experience first. The ammenities will come later.

No one will allow a dog while training
    ( to my knowledge )

But most starter companies have pet policy's some will require a deposit 150-300 or more

There is a thread on here for FFE. Is titled FFE the new academy, and talks a great deal about their school. However, they will also hire recent graduates from other schools. They would put you with one of their trainers, probably for six weeks. Then you would test out and go solo. They have a rider and pet policy. Both are available to you after you have been solo 90 days. I think that is pretty standard for the training companies that allow pets. There is also a thread on pet friendly companies in the pet section. Just be mindful that many companies change from day to day.

give yourself some time behind the wheel first and get used to driving a pet can be a real distraction at times. give it about 6 mo before even intertaining the idea of a pet. i carry my black lab with me daily and theres a lot of times i wish i had left her at home espically when im on a really tight schedule and all the dog wants to do is stop for a potty break every 30 min.

Well, I wont give you advise just the facts.
I went with ffe because free school, paid training and a pet policy. I just finished up my 6 wks training (paid 455 a week) Just got my almost new truck (2011 prostar).
The week I was home I trained my dog to jump up and down from the truck and worked on his manners.

Today was shotguns first trip. He looked out the passenger window for about 10 min then went to sleep in the bunk. He would poke his head out when I would stop and he stood guard while I was at the fuel Island at the hook.

So my planned worked out well so far. OK...except for dog farts and he is a bed hog. Other than that life is good.
