    Brian,
Really, do you think I roll like that? I'm glad you got a new truck, really, I hope it works out well and that they, PACCAR, have worked out the bugs.
Concerning a new(er) truck, well we'll see, I'll just keep plugging along with olde 672 when I hit the road tomorrow after 9 great days off. See you guys on the road, even the ones who drive Peterbilts! LOL.

    Hawk,
Maybe they sent it for you, you did say you wanted back in a Pete.

actually Matt, it seems as i will get my wish, someone moved out of an pete and i just requested to let me take that one instead... i feel sorry for whoever get this truck, i hope they tear this thing apart to see whats wrong, its a #### shame an 2010 is running this crappy!!!

I do know this much, if had to drive this thing for past this week and i couldn't get another truck then i might just had to find other work, i would hate to leave but the problems with this truck just take any fun i have out of driving period!!!! But if Cory holds true to his word (which at times i hear is BS, from others) then hopefully all is well, at least for the time being, if not....just got to wait to see what the future holds

Just so hawk's nightmare doesn't scare anybody too badly, my 660 is running like a dream liner. Smooth ride, quiet cabin, easy shifting...maybe a little less power than the older 386s, but not massively so. Does about a mile-per-gallon better than the 386, too.

Headed for Oconomowoc and Kenosha (both WI) tomorrow morning.

Random: I got the bird from a guy in a beat up mid-80s ford pickup today. It was the least little thing, too. He was behind me on the westbound ramp to the toll island on 80/90, exit 72 (South Bend, IN). The westbound and eastbound exits from the freeway merge before the toll island, and the left and right toll lanes (of three) were "EZpass only". Well, the left lane stacked up with a truck and a bus that came across from the eastbound ramp (into the ezpass lane directly in front of me), and the righthand lane was empty. Since I needed to exit right to go north anyway (to the Pilot, where I am now) I flipped on my turn signal and made sure the eastbound ramp (to my right) was clear, and slid on over. It's not something I would have done had there been any traffic on the ramp.
Well, Mr Pickup dove out wide to my right, obviously trying to scoot around me to the open ezpass lane (where I was headed). He couldn't do it, and he didn't even get even with the back of the trailer before I was in the lane. I didn't accelerate, I didn't edge him out. I just moved over where he wanted to go, well before his actions indicated he wanted to go there.

So I get headed onto the northbound ramp, and if you've been there, you know that the third lane ends for a half mile before it begins again for the Pilot exit. So I'm getting up to speed and this joker pulls out from behind me, puts the hammer down, and very carefully puts his pickup next to my cab. He stays there until I run out of lane. I can see that he's doing this, so I just gently drop some speed to make the merge behind him.

I didn't give him a reaction. No fist, no horn, no threatening maneuvers. So he decides it's time to be off down the road, but not before he rolls down his window and gives me a big, meaty middle finger.

I had to shake my head. I've done way worse things to people by accident (and once or twice on purpose) and they don't even seem to have noticed, let alone take the time to play chicken with me and give me a howdy-doo. I'm the first to admit, it was a kind of unconventional lane change on my part, but it was far from reckless or aggressive..and I even signaled! But I get the bird because he didn't get to zoom around me until 35 seconds later than he wanted to. Go figure.

    Hawk,
See I told you, of course I'm sure you didn't get Brian's old truck, you know the history! That KW you had sounds like one of those made on a Friday.:biggrin_2559:

    Mushroom,
yea it was good to be off, fish, drink beer, and of course honey do's.

    Saienga,
Interesting story about the moron who flipped you off, some people get so stupid when they get behind the wheel, and I don't just mean 4 wheelers either. That story kinda reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when George comes up to a toll plaza, in NY of course, and a guy flips him off, well George get's bent out of shape and follows this guy for miles to eventually catch up to him and find's the guy has his arm in a cast, bent upwards with the middle finger protruding. Needless to say George felt like an idiot. Remember, it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

    Be safe all.

Lol that's a good one Mark. I probably would have done worse and just pushed his ### out of the way. I know exactly what you mean with that lane too. Why don't they just make it contiguous! Is there an overpass or something between?

I have to agree with your statement on the KW's 100%. Although hawk I feel your pain too about the power. I just did my second run to Syracuse this week and I was going about half nuts in my tired stooper trying to keep her boiling between the hills and the traffic. I used to run PA and NY on 81 every day too, and no one was watching our overspeed so it's a little different here. In those days I think I had double digit excessive speed every week!

I'm trying to relearn optimal shift points because this thing sure is different. I gave the Pete hell and from talking to some older drivers I downshifted pretty near the point they upshifted lol. In the Pete if I was trying to get somewhere I'd upshift at a little over 1700. I'd downshift at 1400. Some say that's thrashing it but i say that's why theres a governor! If it'll pull let it pull! It seems you certainly can't drive these new ones like that. It won't let you! I was really confused the first couple times I tried to set the cruise at 60 in 8lo for hilly terrain. It cuts it back to 58 on the downhills and flats, and back to 60 when it starts working! These SOHC motors never really feel like they're working, but then again, they never feel labored either. Maybe they should have given me an automatic haha.

Hawk just to hear you're back in something you like.

I'm getting loaded here in Rochester with beer, what a first time ex
