Hi all. I am currently active duty military (USAF) and I have 17 months until my terminal leave. I will retire with 20yrs, 7 mos.
I am planning on hitting college for a tech certificate an then looking at applying to the Roehl driving school. Found this forum and thought I would join and read up an the truck driving career.
My desire is to eventually start my own business in New Mexcio but I will use a driving job to live off of and allow my military retirment check to build capital for the inventory. Well that is the plan anyway.
OB.
17 mos to go

Thanks for your service!OilBurner Thanks this. -
first, let me say, thank you so very much for serving!, good luck with your chosen path, I hope all works out great for you, As I dont know much about Roehl, I did talk with a couple of there drivers that where not happy with them, but your going to find a driver or two that that way with any company, dont get tricked into the lease deal, the deal is good for them and not the driver, stay company and let the company pay the bills on the truck, Again best of luck

Crzyjarmans, you are welcome. I have read several threads on Roehl, I like them at least their concept anyway...seems I have cought that things have changed in management and communication between the dispatchers and the drivers is in need of some TLC. Definately seems to be a disconnect with some of the dispatchers &Drivers. I am hoping to use AF management skills in Shoot, Move, Communicate to keep things going. Maybe the dispatchers will begin to understand the point of view frm a driver and the driver the pov of view of a dispatcher. IDK, freight movement has been around for as long as this country was built, they all probably had the same problems to get around just technology has made it different, faster, and more impersonnal.
