In a way, you're right, he wasn't an employee so to speak but I'm sure his or her contract was terminated not long after the message stating he had just turned his truck and one of englands brand new trailers into a convertible, wound up being read by one of the safety people.
Egh, that first digit don't mean squat.... Well, other than the fact of pointing out that its not a company truck. The 99xxx, 95xxx and I believe the 96xxx trucks are the owner operators. The 93, 94 and 97xxx are the lease trucks.

I'm sure the driver's insurance paid for the damages on the load, trailer and truck. The deductible is only a thousand bucks which is far less than the damages inflicted in the photograph.

Lol, what does topping a truck have to do with the questionable ability and the responsibility of a fresh driver out of training to manage your own business at leasing a truck?

Hmm, I don't think I've seen those signs.

I can't believe they mark them bridges lower than what they are. But I guess the good thing is, it should get your attention and remind you to stay alert when you see a bridge marked 12' 7" when yer 13' 6".....

First time we went to new York, we finished our delivery somewhere in queens and as we were leaving out, we got on the wrong road and had to stop on the side of the side of the street when we saw a low clearance sign in the distance that read, 12' 8"........

But, shortly after we stopped, another truck and trailer that sure looked like the same height as us went barrelling under the bridge with no problems....

    We still proceeded with caution......

That same sign got me back in 2001. I spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get off of Atlantic.

Might be useful to start a thread with bridges in New York that are marked incorrectly, so here is one.... Route 17 just south of Woodbury (off exit 16 New York Thruway),marked 12' 8" actual height 13'8". See rigs pulled over all the time trying to figure another way to run south to NJ. I stop and advise as many as I can.

Check this out. 11foot8.com. Funny how many drivers just don't see the flashing lights and signs for a block or 2 in advance.
