Thats an interesting video. Its always neat to see what other people do on the other side of the world. I know in these parts if you were to drive a truck threw a river or creek like what they did on the video the environment guys would have you thrown in jail.

Tatra with independent suspention were available in USSR 30-40 years ago. Trucks were beloved for good off road ability and were generally used as trucks for construction.

There is only one problem of Tatra suspention - exessive tire wear, but no they solved problem using ECAS that keeps optimal ride height.

Tatra loves air cooled diesels. It is advantage and disadvantage. No water pump - no radiator, hoses and a lot of stuff, but more noise. And no hot water for cab heater.

Engine does not overheat in normal conditions, but when it is hot driver should keep engine speed more then 1300 RPM becouse cooling fan is crankshaft driven

They make trucks of COE and conventional design. I used to drive both.

so it is really good truck for logging, construction... but this is not a road truck.

    dave26027 Thanks this.

I was wondering how in the world a V8 diesel with that much power could stay cool without liquid cooling, seeing as a good ol Harley Davidson v-twin can overheat in stop and go traffic...

there is an oil cooler there and it is enought to cool down pistons with oil spraing.

culinders and heads are like old aircraft design, but fan is good, enought to cool cylinders.

If engine overheats it does not fail, loose power and if driver does not keep it heating - no problem
