Hello to all. This is my first of many posts to come. I want to first say thank you for having a site dedicated to this profession. I have already learned a great deal reading and decided to join the community. I'm about to be 30 and decided that I want to get my act together and really find a career that I can put the next 15 - 20 years of my life into. I read many ups and downs about the industry and companies in it. There are many horror stories as well as success stories. Let me just wish everyone who is entering this career with no experience the best of success and many blessings. Don't let no-one deter you from your path. The winners are the ones that make it to the finish line not the ones who quit and sob about the sport.

    Best Wishes

    Gears Thanks this.

Welcome. You'll find plenty to "sob about" in the trucking business. But, you'll pretty much get back out of it what you're willing to put into it.

It is my understanding that every industry one may find issues to pick and complain about. I currently work for a fire protection company here in New York and though many of my peers who are unemployed would probably like to be in my shoes, they have no idea of the amounts of stress and bs that I put up with. The richest man complains if he doesn't get the tax breaks he feels he has earned, the poorest man complains if he doesn't receive the benefits that he he believes is a right to have to aid him in poverty. The point is everybody has something to complain about. I'm really only concerned with the concrete facts and hope to find it here
