You're very welcome L.L. I have been looking at this myself. Those threads are lots of reading but they are full of information. There are many different opinions but if you read it all you will get a good feel for what is correct.

There are many company names througout the threads. Regardless of which field you want to work in, the company names in another location may help. Many of the companies are active in multiple locations around the U.S.

 

Gritty old #######...64 year old driver with great dac, in great health. Looking for water hauling work in North Dakota. Not cheep. 20.00 per hr. want get it. If you need a good driver it's going to cost ya. If you don't have a place for a driver to stay, you will need to provide camper trailer. I will pay half of rental on lot. Should be half of $750.00 mo. It'll cost you 35.00 per hour. But that's cheep when you consider what there paying you per hr. Also need half the per deim your getting on truck. Looking for 12 hrs per day, 7 days per wk. With a week off every 3 months. if possible. Can start now. Live in Alabama but that not a problem for a stepper. Don't let a little greed stand in the way of getting a good driver.

Gotta love the roads in ND! Yeah, they really aren't as bad as this guy is making them sound, but maybe that's just because I've lived here my entire life and learned how to drive on these roads. The Badlands are considered "God's country" by the people that live there...I don't live there, I live north of them, but I like them!

One thing of truth is that the gravel roads are sometimes quite a bit better than the paved roads though, especially around the Watford City area (at least that's what I hear). I live in Divide County and at the beginning of the summer, there were several places on the highway were you had to slow down to 10 MPH if you didn't want to lose your bumper, blow out your tires, and smoke your head on the ceiling of the vehicle, but the state crews have finally patched up all the holes...that will last for about a month maybe...

I will admit that I have never driven a truck in the winter, but I have many years of winter driving experience in ND too...it's a real treat! I love it actually...other drivers just scare me most of the time...haha..I know what I'm doing, but I don't trust other drivers.

Oh, and cell service is kind of a luxury around my area..I don't know about the badlands though. Where I drive, I'm generally roaming off of Canadian towers or Montana towers...very rarely ever get service from ND...Canadian towers get to be fairly expensive though...international roaming sucks.

They've got ads for CDL drivers on the radio saying they need CDL drivers at all of their locations. You need doubles-triples and tanker endorsements before hire and they prefer 2 years of experience. If they aren't hiring they should take their ads of the radio then, I guess...
