Unfortunately way too many bribes and kickbacks happen on shipping / receiving docks. One dock supervisor I worked for received substantial bribes for years and it took three sets of new owners to finally figure out what was going on and "can" him.
I also worked with a night forklift operator who never liked to unload trucks... then suddenly started to unload every truck that would show up on his shift. I found out he was making $40 off each driver. I told management and they basically laughed in my face making it sound like I was the bad guy for turning him in.Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
Makes me wonder if Large marge looks like this: I figure it's kinda usefull.. or not. I have paid a few loaders to stick around to get me loaded or unloaded.

Bribes and kickbacks happend everywhere. There have been many times where I have had a truck running late for a delivery that really needed to happen and could talk the manager into staying or having someone stay over to unload the truck as long as we payed the overtime. It could be $40 to $300 just depending on the situation.
We did have one instance where we had this customer for around 10 years and would bring in between 15-40 loads per week all drop and hook. There was a guy who lived near there who would come open the gates after hours or on the weekend for a little money on the side which his manager knew about at the time. Well the company changed ownership a few times over the years and the orginal manager was no longer there but the employee was and we continued this relationship. Well the new company fired him after another employee saw his car there on and told on him for being up there on the weekend letting a truck in the gate.
This could have been the case with the OP original statement that he had been doing it for 10 years and finally got caught and now is trying to say it did not happen which is more in line with what I would believe. -
I know if I was late picking up my load and had to wait overnite to get loaded heck I would have offered a little cash to get out of there and get rolling. We go into alot of customers that charge our company if we are late at pickup and we have to pay upfront with a comchek

Money talks and BS walks.....for a little cash on the side you can get it off/on faster, late or early.....
Seems like it's pretty common and many don't think twice about asking for a little kickback.

And you know he was "falsley" accused because? Oh, that's right, someone said so........
Wow, we seem to have it in for "companies" don't we? Dang companies!!!! They should all be forced to just pay us so we can "feed our kids" and things like that!!!!
