Such a shame and avoidable. Prayers go out to the Driver's Family. As the story said, this is a reminder of how important it is to pay attention and not let yourself slip into tunnel vision. Always scan your horizon and look AT LEAST 15 seconds down the road.

thats what gets me about these drivers that speed thru construction....even if no workers are visible i ALWAYS do posted speed...even if someone tries to "push" me ,things can happen in an instant...sad indeed.....

Had a "nice" discussion with a "driver" 2 weeks ago in Wyoming after he did something stupid in a construction zone. Needless to say I doubt it did any good.

Why is it so important to drivers, to speed in constructions zones, when the speed limit is POSTED at a certain speed. I guess you have never had friends or family who have worked on the other die of the barrles, jersy Barriers.

This is also the reason, that when their done with construction, they need to remove the dam signs.. I do realize this was a active construction zone, but how many times have you seen sign still up for zones, that have been completed for some time..

We have this going on right now, in our town. 4 lane hi-way through town, closed right lane headed N for two days. That was two weeks ago, and the Right Lane Close signs are still up. Ticks me off, because you cannot see over the over pass to realize that the lane is open and all the trucks are already in the left lane doing what they are supposed to do, and the cars will NOT let them back over.

Who says he was speeding? Sounds more like he was distracted with the 80 foot skid marks.

My condolenses to the family. RIP driver!

It cost money to remove those signs. So my suggestion would be for them to let the welfare junkies remove them as part of their requirement to receive benefits..
