Hey everyone, I been reading dam near every post(54pgs) in this thread that was started by Smokr. Great info. Answer some Q's I had in mind and ones that didn't cross my mind. Any who, I wouldn't say that I've done my homework thoroughly with other companies, just mainly Stevens. It's the only seminar I attended here in Denver. I did as much ad I could HERE in the avairy and other threads that b!##h and moan bout Stevens, which just can't change my mind bout Stevens.
I'm in it for the long haul,(that is if everything goes soomthly. I had HDQRTS call me to verify my background and work history), which she never said that there is a problem. I was given a school date to start. So I think I'm good to go. "BUT", I would really like to hear from people that started HERE in Denver. Doing 17 days here and 4 at Dallas. Give me the scoop on what goes on here. I have been studying my CDL book and taking Christians( something like that) online tests.
    ANYONE???
If your going to Careers world Wide in Keensburg your good to Go! I can't say them same thing about Stevens I had peers in my class go there and I talk to all of them and they wish they picked a different Co. I'm happy were I went and I make a lot more than they do. More miles. also I have kick ace medical Insurance I also get 10 days paid Vacation a yr. You should talk to more people that went or at stevens now. Plan on being passed all the time too!:biggrin_2556:

Listen to Steve. He is a great instructor! Him and Danone are the two best in my opinion. Steer clear of mean mike is possible! Good luck! You will be on the road with a trainer before you know it!

Another fun day yesterday: heavy traffic, more turns, and some time on ramps and highway. I drove 11 miles yesterday, doesn't seem like much but 3/4 of my time driving was in traffic. I accomplished my goal of keeping my hand off the shifter once I get to cruising speed, I just have to keep telling myself over and over.

I "accidentally" sneaked in a couple floats up and down. After double clutching for the last few days I had to tell myself NOT to use the clutch. My brain still wanted to push the clutch in, lol. Up shifting felt natural.

Did I mention that is HUCKING FOT down here...?

    Hey T,

You may want to try Russ out... He was mine before I left and had me running up around 2800-3000 a week. Almost always had a preplan...

As to the e-logs... We use PeopleNet over here at Tyson and I thought I would hate them... But in the last 4 weeks I've turned 3200, 3500, 4000, 3300 miles... If I have hours Tyson will find something to use them... :biggrin_25520:

Stevens is a great Training company... If you can put up with all thier policies a want to actually work it can be a good place to be... You can't find a better place to get trained, at least from what I have seen...

Finally ran across a Stevens Truck sitting in a truck stop all the way north Here in Oregon this morning. Parked outside the area for about 10 minutes to see if there was any movement from within......none. After waiting almost a year to speak with a Stevens Driver I decided the worst this guy could do was tell me to EFFF Off, I knocked on the door and crossed my fingers, almost waiting to be yelled at. The Driver inside opened the window and I told him I was leaving soon to start training with Stevens and I would love if he could take a minute to talk with me...........he immediately opened the cab door and invited me inside!!! To my surprise there was also a student in the truck with him, who also awoke to have a word with me. These two guys were very informative and excited about there careers at Stevens. I am pumped up and ready to get this show on the road. I couldn't have had a better morning so far......first time sitting in the cab of a Peterbilt------- PUMPED UP!!!!!! :biggrin_1square:
