Have a question for anyone staying at or recently stayed at the CrossRoads Extended Stay. Is the place as bad as the reviews on their website?
-
Crosslands ain't that bad. You only get housekeeping once a week though. Now Americas Best is flat ### nasty and I have video to prove it!SmokeyBear and Corporal_Clegg Thank this.

Hey TLeaHart... I was wondering if that was you that rolled thru Denver coming south from the south end on Tuesday the 3rd of August. I was on I-25 going south from downtown and saw a Stevens Tranport Trailer rolling. I must say that it was my first to see one in Denver. Not like I sit by the highway EVERYDAY to see , but when I drive, I'm always looking to find one. So you can say that I did get excited to see a Stevens truck here. Whoever it was, good to see you rolling thru Denver!!!
I took my 2nd home drug test to find out that I still cant start my school.(pissed off) I have stopped since July 3. I'm small in stature and I shouldve been cleared by now. I wonder if my recruiter is pissed. But, I'M PISSED! He don't know how much this means to me. This has been my first sacrifice and next it will be my family. Dam it.... I can't wait to be part of the Stevens family. -
I bet that pumped you up. It felt good to see one in my city tooShiftylots Thanks this.

Same opinion here. I liked Crossroads, having a kitchen, full bathroom, cleaner, better stores, shops and food nearby. Except the Americas Best has a WalMart nearby and food right next door.

has been all summer, but you have to call safety every trip to be approved. Chain law starts Sept 1, so no more vail or Eisenhower after that.
Students are still not allowed to drive it last I was told. -
not me south of denver, sorry, rolled through on I76 west bound. Go over by commerce city, and all the warehouses by the old stapleton airport, and you will see more stevens trucks than you want too.
I know if a person knocks on my door, and is not looking to sell or panhandle, I am always willing to talk.
Today I am in Barstow, I requested a repower this morning, but my DM wanted to try and reschedule, since I am running early... my thoughts, yea more lip service to shut me up, but I did not voice it. Amazingly, the first drop in Ontario did get rescheduled to Saturday Morning... But the final in Stockton is still Monday Morning.... so I get to set around Cally all weekend long anyway.
After spending 3 short nights at the roach motel, piss smelling mold infested carpet, called americas best, I was happy to get on my trainers truck. Actually now that I think about it, this hotel gets you ready for the truck stops, and the sticky parking lots.
Never stayed at crosslands. Did stay at Days inn for orientation 2.
"Ciek Onasis" Thanks this. -
I'm not sure of the other motels but at Crosslands, you will have a roommate. Guess I've been lucky with my two roommates as both have been clean and don't snore, lol. My last roommate didn't pass his physical so I was solo from Tuesday till Saturday.

The second week students were in the yard today practicing backing, parking, and running the course. After being out in traffic and knowing how to shift, getting back onto the course was a cake walk. Backing and parking should only need one lesson to get the basics and techniques down and I'm confident after practicing a couple times today that I'll be ready for the DPS road test on Tuesday.
We were already warned today that the shuttle will be picking us up at 5am on Tuesday in hopes of beating the lines at DPS. Word is that other people are camping out to be the first in line to beat the Stevens students because soo many are getting turned away and not getting a chance to road test.
I'll be at the school till ~midnight on Monday night then catching a ride with one of the locals to DPS @ 3am Tuesday morning so that we are (one of) the first in line at DPS for road tests. I might as well bring my pillow. Going to be a loooong couple days but I don't want to be one of those who get turned away all week long... -
I'm guessing you still take the physical on the 1st day of class? Least that's the way they did it back when I worked there back in the 90's.
