Thanks for the numbers Eric, I know what I am going to continue to do. My biggest decission is going to be what fleet to come back to. I was on curtains when I left, but with this fusion in my neck, I'm not sure I am going to want to be throwing straps and climbing all over door and lumber loads. I guess in a few weeks we'll figure it all out.
Anyone been hurt at work???

So the pain is almost gone from surgery, I am able to sleep at night again... It won't be long and things will be back to normal. I can't wait...
-
No more pain meds... Just a tylenol now and then. I even drove today, first time since surgery, no pain in my left arm, how cool is that. I am so glad I got this done!!!

congrats on your recovery, sounds like you will be back in a trainer truck in very soon !
more speedy recovery and good luck ! p.s van is the way to go, its easier on these pesky older bodys. -
I know what you're saying about the van thing... I'm not sure what I will be doing when I get back yet. I am sure that will be figured out in the next month or so... All I know is that I feel 150% better, and I wish I could have had this done right after I got hurt. Oh, well, it is done now, and I feel better.

For someone who is afraid of heights, and whose work requires climbing extension ladders I am very careful when going up to lines on telephone poles, or sides of buildings, but back in April I had a ladder kick out from under me, and I rode the ladder down and broke my wrist in 3 places. Seeing as I am a sub contractor, I had to absorb the cost myself, and that sucks.

Mine was a straight workmans comp case, but you have to see this doc and try this, and then see that doc and try that... Then physical therapy for 6 weeks, then you finally get to a doc that says "I can fix that." Then comp wants you to get another opinion, so you wait longer to see another doc... All the while you are in pain every day and night, with no sleep... You finally get to see the doc for comp, and he says "why didn't you get this done sooner???" Anyway all is fixed now, and I am just waiting to return to work... I hope I don't have to go through this again.
mtnMoma Thanks this. -
Had my two week follow up after surgery. The doctor said everything looks great, wants my to have an x-ray in a month, and told me he would see me in six weeks. The comp nurse was cool with that too... He did tell me I could start doing a bit more, so that is good. I am going to keep up my exercise routine and also start adding some low impact stuff to get back in shape for trucking again. I guess the countdown to returning starts....
