So last couple days were go go go. We completed our third delivery and headed for memphis terminal to get fuel. We ended up stopping in Wesson, MS at a mom and pops truck stop for our 10 hrs. We left for memphis, got fuel and headed to Ohio. My mentor can't believe I can run so hard. I completed 7 backs so far, 1 blind side. We arrrive at the receiver an 1 before our 14 was up. The receiver decided he didn't want to unload until he left us with 15mins to get to a truck stop nearby. Phwew.

Now we reset and are looking for a decent load out west. Got a preplan for 500 miles, but pick-up is at 6pm tonight and delivery in the morning.
    :biggrin_25513:

If freight is slow we'll take it, but not before asking for something sooner.

I have completed 37+ hours of my initial 50. We want to finish the 50 this week. So far I've driven 1800 miles. Probably won't break 3000 this week but who knows.:biggrin_25512:

So we managed to pickup the last load in KY early and we headed for NC to deliver, figuring it would be a 24hr DC we were excited to be available for a new load after our 10hrs. We arrive at 2am and find out no one is here until 4 - 5am. :biggrin_2555: Anyway we decide to do our 10hrs and deliver in the afternoon.
This morning we got a pre-plan for a load out of SC to IL. :biggrin_2559:
I am now waiting for 12pm so I can move the truck.
I only have 2hrs to complete the 50hrs so we will team on this load.:biggrin_25523:

Then we'll take a load into GA for a reset. Looks like we might break 3000miles.

I'll second the backing part. I do not drive for swift, but know people that do... My In-laws. my Father in law had a mentor that made him back 10 times a day after they got stopped.

Remember you do not get paid til you hit the dock and get that freight off!

So here is the new update. I am on a 34 restart in Georgia. I went home and worked out:biggrin_25520::biggrin_25522:. I am waiting for the truck service to be completed and we can get back on the road,

After the North Carolina load, we figured we could get a load to Georgia and restart, figuring because we were close we could go home :biggrin_25513:. So we got a load to go to Illinois. We did a 10 hr before we got to IL and delivered in the morning. After this load I was finished my 50hr requirement and we could team. We got a load in IL going to Kansas terminal, ("there's no place like home"). We arrived in Kansas terminal and did a 10hr rest, were we showered and fueled. Here we were offered a load that was going to Ohio. We wanted to head back to Georgia because the tractor needed a DOT service. We waited and tried to get a load going back to Georgia, but the planner and dispatcher said we already had a load assignment:biggrin_25513:. We were going to take this load to Ohio if the terminal would complete the service so we could be legal. Maintenance told us we had to wait, "there are 48 trucks ahead of you." BS I say. Anyway we were going to take the load to Ohio just to get out of there only to find out that the scale tickets were false and the load was overweight:biggrin_25523:. So we got a load for a local driver to deliver to 5 stops in Nebraska from Kansas. We took the load and got preplanned for a load in TN. After delivering to TN we were offered a load to Jersey, were the Mentor asked me if we should take it. I said no and lets get a load to go to Georgia so we could get the service as the truck was getting harder to start and the check engine light was coming on more. He agreed and called the driver manager and we got a load to go to Georgia where we delivered and went home.

We are going to try to get some longer loads now that we can team. I have completed over 20 backs with 5 of them being blind side. We completed over 5000 miles in 9 days and I worked over 85 hrs. I did my first training video at a kiosk in Kansas:biggrin_25513:. Do not stand on one of those things for 15mins. Do the videos online.

Thanks for tuning in and I will keep updating when I can.

The mentor asked YOU if he should take a particular load ? Funny.......Just curious, how close to being out of hours when you do 34 re-starts ? Seems with 500 mi runs, you could keep running.
