So I seem to be sitting out a weekend and looking for a good shady spot. I actually found a mall with a free access parking garage but of course my Qualcomm No Signal light comes on.
Usually I'm dispatched on my Cell phone but I wondered if I could get lost off the grid. Or worse lose my place in line.
Also if you're wondering this does have a spot over an 8ft clearance so I'm not going to rip the thing off.
But really this question can apply to other situations. I've parked behind a place like Wendy's with trees behind the place. I keep wondering how crucial it is I keep moving till I find a good parking spot and still have a clear signal.
Van under parking garage. Will Qualcomm "disappear"?

Hey a good spots a good spot they'll know your sitting

Last I knew, and I have not run Q-com in years, you will be flagged at the last point you had signal....
I got mad at Nestle when I was leased there years ago and diconnected the coax so they couldn't track me, I was flagged at the point where it went "dark" nothing beyond that.....
so yes, you can go off the grid or could at one time I should say.. :smt108 -
Okay thanks.
Right now I'm in Cincinnati and #1 on the waiting list for a load. My main concern was that I didn't lose my place. I want to be first in line come Monday. -

yes being under any overhead structure will block the signal. Years ago when we used Qualcom while parked under the bridges at the New Orleans covention center I was unreachable via Qualcom. If the red light is on you need to move for access.

No, they will know your there, Q-comms have come along way, you wont be able to recieve any msg. until you get your signal back, I'd send them a msg. to call your phone and you dont have a signal where your parked

Trees shouldn't block a signal, but a concrete and steel parking garage most certainly will absorb any radio / satellite signal.
