Most CDL schools will finance the tuition and you could then use a companies tuition reimbursement plan to pay for most. This would be better than owing money to your employer. If something goes wrong at Central and you have to leave before your commitment is up, you are going to owe them a ton of money.

 

yea thats the only thing i dont like just trying to get my foot in the door u know i got a lot of family that drives a truck for a liveing i got 2 uncles and my dad and my grandpa so i know most of the ins and out but im going to know more when i hit the road thanks alot for the info good buddy

 

I started with USX one year ago. It depends on how you do in Upgrading Test, whether you gotta team or not after training. I did fine and they just gave me a truck....so,I've been running solo right away.

 

whats a upgrading test with us xpress?

 

Ya this is the first I have heard of this too, what is an upgrade test??

Also, didnt I read somewhere on here that some folks have only had to go thru a week with a trainer and were turned loose with a truck to run solo too??

Your upgrade test happens after you have completed driving 150 hours with your trainer. There is a written test, you have to show that you can perform route planning, a simulator and a driving test that includes backing. Takes about two days. At the end of the upgrade you get assigned your truck

 

it's a test of company policy, map reading/trip planning and a driving test
your trainner will teach you this.

the short trainning is for driver that have not been on the road recently
