Hey, my name is Jared and I've been trucking mostly this summer.
I just got my CDL last summer and basically got it for summer jobs while I go to college. I worked for a local co-op in NW North Dakota. It's an elevator, so my driving jobs are basically hauling fertilizer, grain and water, however this summer I've been hauling gravel mostly. The co-op has a project in which we need gravel, so the boss bought two belly dumps...cheaper than contracting out another company to do it I suppose. I've basically put on 20,000 miles on the same 35 miles of road this summer...lol.
I don't think I'm going to be a trucker my whole life, but it's a great way to make money until I get a career (I want to be a fed...either border patrol of ICE) and driving is something I love.
