My husband and I were talking and the truck stops are gearing more and more toward 4-wheelers and RV's anymore. Nothings priced or geared for the truckers anymore. I remember when I would go out with my uncle in the Summer and you had to be a trucker to go into the driver's lounge and be a trucker to use the showers. Not anymore, and it's sad. I actually do remember a time where people and Co. realized this country opens everyday for business because a trucker brought the shipment!!!!!!

Good point. I have noticed quite a few truckers parked in WalMart parking lots.

The Super WalMart in Adrian, MI always has 10 or so rigs parked there. The store mgt. is very accomodating to drivers. It's also within walking distance of the little mall.

I'll be parking my rig there for my TAH on weekends when I start with Roehl in a couple of weeks.

i tend to prefer local stops instead of pilot, etc. but they're becoming harder to find.

I use IdleAire alot so it's TA and Petro for me. TA more often though. Peelots and Loves are some kind of joke I think. They're hard to get in and out of, have few showers, and no restaurants.

Luckily, I have big tanks and can pick and choose a little more than some.

And a few rest areas I've come across on the I40 and I10 in CA/AZ are cleaner than the Pilots/TA's/Loves & Flying J's. I prefer those to a truck stop while on those freeways. But, when you gotta fuel, you gotta go where the fuel card works. Hey, whatever works.... we do what we gotta do while on the road.

the food sucks at the flying j and TA(pilots are all fast food, which sucks) the bathrooms are ALWAYS dirty,at least the mens rooms are. everything is overpriced. and the coffee is complete cheap junk.
the people at the fuel desks are complete morons..

is there a TA some place where ALL pumps are operational ? (6 or 8 islands yet 2 or 3 are always blocked)

why are loves parking lots smaller than the other average truck stop?

whoever is "fixing" the tile in the shower isnt doing their job.

are these companies not making enough money to REPAVE the PARKING LOT ??

is it our job as drivers to fill the windshield washer buckets and fix the squeegies ??

why have water spickets on the fuel isle with no hoses,is this to make our job easier in filling the buckets to wash our windshields ?

..yet,somehow for people in cars they don't run into this as an everyday problem.

keep your snacks and your overpriced cheap tools and food. ....with that all being said,no i have no favorite. i stop to fuel and shower, that is all.

We stop at whichever one has the best fuel prices. Co-driver prefers Pilot coffee -- likes the 'Stok'd' to give him some extra caffeine. I like the snacks at Pilot -- so far they're the one I find my favorites at most often. Don't care for any of the restaurants -- food is unhealthy and you can't find a well balanced meal anywhere. But, I make do and try to supplement with what I snack on in the truck. Love it when we get a chance eat at a 'real' restaurant. Getting vegetables (besides corn) with your entree is such a treat. Yes, I know that there are vegetables on the buffets, but I got food poisoning at a buffet once and just can't bring myself to eat the buffet unless they just put it out.

We normally eat out for breakfast only, we prefer Petro's, the food is pretty good, service is normally good also. They tend to be cleaner, friendlier also. There are some of the TA's that we stop at that have different restraunts in them that we like, and a few pilots that have grandma max's in them. Good food , good price etc. i cook in the truck for the other meals.
