Orientation day 2: had class room.stuff till lunch. Then TRK selection. There were 5-6 new cascadia and some were super singles I got delayed due to nature and got out to TRK pen late. Observed allot then picked one of the older trks. Got 2010 prostar w isx engine, 376k, has over 60% good rubber. Went thru TRK w fine tooth comb( took me 3 hrs). Hope I can get grease out of shirt and shorts. Temp.was 108. I was tired. Met w TRK liaison went over my check list spoke allot re TRK. Sent to shop foreman - discussed list. Then bacl to class for some log classes and refer training cuz I b a virgin w that. If all items on list are repaired then I will b satisfied. Overall very gr8 exp. I could have gotten a new TRK of I used short cut and just got the TRK #, mileage and fuel level but I couldn't do that the people checking out those trks will be people I will see on the future plus I can upgrade if I want to after 90 days provided I prove myself. It was funny bcuz the liaison asked me after he saw my list if I wanted TRK. Told him no however I know how hard I work and went over entire TRK and if the list gets done then the TRK will meet my satisfaction plus no side note. No apu but I have elogs. TRK pymnt 570. A little steep but it already has enjector dousing, radiator flush, air filter replaced, new power steering pump and hoses. So major needs: break shoes both drove axles, front cab suspension bracket bushing. Some interior items such as a/c charge and a/c in sleeper. Very limited storage but use to that. Gonna get new snow chains and proper cable gauge. New drivers seat back. So I figure w repair items I will b good for a yearlong rubber and so on plus just need pm 's . It was very exciting to see those who got new TRK to be so emotional and I new that was gonna b how they felt. I am more pleased kept my ethics and didn't cut their throats , by applying a bad tactic and beat them out of something that would be so special for them plus I like saving over $200 every week w my pymnt structure. Hotel took us to Walmart to do shopping got my 6 wks food and all I will need is to buy more water. Also my tank is on empty so I get my 200 gallons free and no TRK payment for the first three settlements so I save 2000 on first 3weeks thank you Mr John Christner. I am tired gonna chill and monitor this for a while if ppl have any q's , not to long though.

Day 3: finished physical, watched allot of videos re safety. Learned about tax service , driver legal service and medical. I decided to utilize both service and are going to speak w health provider . Went over lease agreement line by line and independent contractor agreement. Received trick permit book and easy pass , pre pass and ok pike pass. Did FinLAND interview and tomorrow we go thru log class and meet our dm and operation mgr- which will clarify the ops side. Also received about 1.5 hrs of business advice for everyone. Knowing a little about businesses the information and accessibility to people who really want u to succeed is gr8. I tell u what my experience is great in my opinion. Never leasing or owning truck b4 a person would be overwhelmed by the unknown and I know nothing about refers and I feel comfortable and poised for sucess. All the talk about fuel mpg , time management , support tools is great.and was duplicated in orientation . I realize some ppl w fail however 99% of the time u r given so much support I don't see how. They won't run your business however they will be available to suggest proven ways to succeed .
As far as other equipment. There were IH 9900, kw t660, prostar and cascadias.

dont sweat the reefer details too much, you will be given a card that gives you step by step guides on both carrier and thermoking operations and there is a macro on your qcomm that does the same and if you get totally flustered then breakdown line or shop line will walk you through it 24-7, and anytime you see another jct driver grab him/her and get em to show ya, ive had to utilize all methods at on time or another and never had a problem. you will also get a list of phone numbers/extensions,,i still keep mine over my visor for quick calls to rant at the necessary person!

as for the offered tax service,,,,,,atbs,,,,,well, not many here have been happy with them,if you like them after a quarter then stay with them,,if they pretty much tick you off beyond any reasonable human limit,,,then ive got a couple of good cpa/tax peoples numbers for you and you can ask on jct drivers united fb site like i did and everyone there will cough up a number for there cpa/tax agent,,some even do there own ((shudder)),glad to see you are having a good experience so far!
