when you run this northeast stuff, going up you can take all day, most loads are usually ready to go around 9 or 10 a.m... but that stuff coming back can be some really hot loads!!!!! one time i remember i had an load out of a salt plant in the middle of new york, had to be in smyrna, de in 6 hrs, with only 6:20 mins drive time available due to the deadhead and the wait at the docks!!! so some of these backhauls can be hot but lately we've been pulling alot of whitewave loads out of New York so those don't have so much the rush on them and there a little more flexible....
as bech said, bump that b!#5H up to fast idle and lay back.....

I was in the yard the day Cory was talking to the guy from White Wave about us pulling stuff down to Mt. Crawford out of Delhi & I was wondering how that was coming along. As far as Northwest & So Cal loads those can be tricky to come by. A lot of times those leave between Friday & Sunday AM, just let Sheldon dispatch know that you want to go out there & they will keep an eye out for one that'll work for your hours.

Well I was about to report that Big Lots in Columbus is a retail warehouse that isn't so bad, til I left and found they managed to break one of my shiney new load locks! How the f---?!
There are plenty of spots in the area you can probably get away with parking in. I got an OK from the guard at the Giant Eagle off 270. The Pilot is at that exit too, but you're hard pressed to get a spot there at noon even.
Picking up a load of bricks in Hanover, OH (the one by Newark) now, bound for Sioux Falls. 44,850!
Happy 5th employment anniversary Husker! -
A load of bricks???

It's my 5th year anniversary already? Heck I didn't even realize that. I've been on nights for the last week and a half so I'm not really sure what day it is to be honest with you!

not to bad i guess... they just get some loads that have such a gap in between the pickup and delivery time, but he gives it to someone who's short on hours or a midwest driver, but they not only do they just go to mt. crawford but some goes to distribution centers like safeway in Upper Marlboro, Giant in Jessup, and Supervalu in Mechanicsville... thats fine by me i guess, as longs as we left that railex bull$h!? alone....

Hawk,
Your right about the hot loads, especially the broker loads, I'll call them up and ask what map they're looking at? Had a p/u today, deadheaded out of Norton, stopped at exit 93 for fuel and away I went, well once I went through Ct. the bottom fell out, traffic and construction on 95 south, and to top ot all off, there was a bank robbery nearby, the cops chased the perps onto the interstate, shotts were fired, etc., you know just like any NY cop show, it ended on 95 at exit 16 and once I got there it was all cleared up, time to wait 2.5 hours, priceless! Got to Hall's refrig in Plainfield NJ for a load to RDC, time left to drive 1.4 = late load.
Brian,
Pulling flatbeds now?
Be safe all -
I kinda wish it was on a flatbed! I was going to put load locks in, got up in the trailer, and said, "WTH are you doing? They're bricks! Each "pallet" is over a ton!" the single rear on did slide back almost halfway to the door, despite me "taking it easy". Riding nice though. They spread out pretty far and I have the 40' mark just ahead of the center of the tandems. Hope you all are enjoying cooler weather this week.

Brian,
saw a flatbed today in NJ with Bricks, thought of you, glad it's riding good. Hey did you guys hear about two VW trucks getting blown over in Kansas? Nobody was hurt, thank God. Both were empty of course, what crap.
Be safe out there
