I've been contemplating about getting my class a for a no. of years and now i finally made the decision to obtain it. I have started school last month and all is well. Getting ready to take the test for my permit this wk. It is a lengthy class, my grad. date is set for mid dec. but it fits in well with my schedule. Overall im very happy and i have some real good instructors. As time passes i'll repost my progress. Take care, Peter

I went yesterday to the dmv in norwich.ct and took my cdl a permit test and passed. The dmv was very busy i was there an hour before they opened (8:00 a.m.) was called up at or around 8:30 a.m took the exam and than waited and waited..... Fianally around 10:30 a.m they called me up. I lucked out the lady told me as of 8-11-2011 that they are no longer testing at that dmv for the cdl a permit. My original plans was to go on thursday, i'm glad that i went yesterday! Take care, peter

Glad your having a great experience with NETTTS. I actually went to the Bridgeport Campus when it first opened up and I am still pissed that I went to that one (should have gone to another) since I didn't get all the training I should have, they didn't give me enough road time. I got my Class A but the placement staff sucks, they send me jobs via e-mail that they find on indeed or craigslist and when you get to the job site there is another 5 grads filling out apps so it's kind of pointless they sort of push OTR to an extent if you look at it from a different perspective. I drove an hour from home once to fill out an app and never even heard a peep from the place. What they forgot to tell me is the company requires experience in towing (thanks for telling me). So anyways, Good luck with everything bro and I hope you pass the test and get your Class A!

I spoke with a recruiter for NETTS on Saturday and I almost fell over at the price of the school. He quoted me $9395.00. That my friend is way out of line and I'm hoping you didn't pay that much as I understand you will make roughly 30-35 grand you first year or so.

After i graduated from high school i never applied for any school loans or grants, so i was able to qualify for the grants that they offered. I had looked at two other schools in ct. but they did not work with my schedule (work and family). So far so good i'll keep ya posted.

Good luck in your trucking career. I'm from CT and am looking for a school. I looked into NETTS and they are very expensive and also they don'nt have one on one driver training. I was told by one of the recruiters at the school that on the road you are sharing the truck with 4 other students. I am considering Affordable CDL Training in Colchester or Allstate in the Bridgeport area. What OTR companies are they refering you to for jobs?? Is the school recognized by major trucking companies?? Let us know what happens.

Harleybob the otr co. that they will refer you to can be found in the dac report on the forum. Yes most major trucking co. recognize nettts. For shifting drills you will share the truck with four other students, than you will be one on one with a instructor.

Yes that Is true I'm a graduate from the pawtucket rhode island campus and your first time out with a truck you are with 3-4 students at a time. Then as time goes on you are 1 on 1 with an instructor unfortunately I did pay the 9k but In the end was worth It you only live once and they have a high graduating and CDL passing rate also.

those guys are right down the road from me and I have thought about attending. I guess you'd say go elsewhere, hmm? I would also consider Allstate. So, are you driving professionally now?
