Newbie actual first year pay

Also to add to that to get a better picture, could you also state your average time out spent driving before taking hometime!

 

$50K+ in 1st year, hometime whenever I want it...I usually stay out 2-3 weeks but that's my choice, not required...

 

Around 35k my first year with TransAm going home 2 days a month. I'm now leaning toward 45k with Schneider for this year and home every weekend.

Newbie pay: anywhere from $0 - $50,000.

If you know how to really hustle, know the industry and can stay out for two months at a time then I would say $30,000-$35,000 is a good estimate.

 

First year pay, any year pay, depends on way to many factors to give you any kind of empirical data..

What you will make depends on the starting pay of a company, how many miles you get, how much you run the miles you get just for a start.

Just because I will make 50k+ my first year working for Central doesn't mean you will..

 

$42678.00 Gross in 2010, $23830.00 Gross week ending 7/9/2011. Stayed out 31 days to take 5 days off. 1 day off for 6 days out. Always took ALL of my time off. Was off work 14 days in 2010 because of an injury. Drove for GTI

 

This year, so far, I have grossed $19,043.

This is my first year in trucking, with Swift.

Bear in mind, I don't hustle. I like my sleep, and I need a couple hours both before and after a driving shift to wind down and wake up. I don't always try to deliver early, and I try to pace myself so I don't run out of hours. I hate to sit for 34, even if it will make me another 50 bucks a week.

I usually stay out 4-5 weeks before taking 3 days home time. I have lost some time due to repair time, too much time trading trucks (like this week), too many loads with too much time to delivery, and a general laid back attitude (some would say lazy).

So I figure I will make around 25k this year, which will match my best year during my short lifetime.

Don't know if I will try harder next year to make more, because it is always at the expense of my relaxing time. And less relaxation time makes me more dangerous on the road. Plus, I am happy. Both with my job and how much I take to the bank.

So, I would say, you should make at least $25k in your first year - even if you don't try to make money.
