I was thinking about Schneider myself. I'll be 21 in October and graduate from National in September I hope they hire Recent graduates, although I don't wanna drive an automatic.

WOW! very informative...care to expand on your reasoning/logic?

Cranky...is it the idle that is scaring you? The miles?
If you are basing your thoughts off one person's complaining...
90%+ of threads on this board are negative, as in most aspects of life. You expect good service, so when it happens, you just go on about your day. But, if something bad happens, you are going to tell anyone who will listen.
I don't have time to write threads about my great experiences, I'm too busy driving and getting paid! As are most successful/satisfied drivers!
Are Swift and Werner two of the worst companies out there? Most people would say yes, but there are plenty of drivers who have been with them for 10, 15, 20+ happy years.
This, and most any job/company, is about attitude. Most people who whine and complain about a company, are going to do it, no matter where they are.

Honestly, as somebody pointed out earlier in a post of yours; if you worked for 2 different companies in a period 10months back in 2006...I don't know how picky you can afford to be about a company hiring you. Not to mention you are choosing RoadMaster of all places to refresh.
Choose wisely, as those 2 companies in 10 months may bite you in the backside now, and in this job market, you can't afford to hop around at all. It is most definitely an employer's market right now. They can be as picky as they want to be, and the industry seems to be tightening up on drivers' tendency to move from job to job

I wish you the best of luck...given where you are located, there certainly is no shortage of companies to work for!

Schneider only has a very few amount of automatic trucks, 1 out of 10 would be over exaggerating it I think. I would say go to Schneider as well, but I am extremely bias as I work for them and am loving it. I don't know anything about the other company that was asked about since I have no first hand knowledge, but if anyone has a question about Schneider ask away and I'll try to help as best as I can. Oh and yes, they do hire graduates, most of the new drivers are exactly that. Just don't walk into a company expecting to make $60k a year in a brand new truck right off the bat. Any company is going to put their least productive/highest risk drivers (IE new guys) in their standard older trucks and build you up in miles instead of just slamming you with miles when they don't know what you are capable of.

Because I am one hard to please SOB, and I still say Schneider is the best large company out there.

I'd still be driving for them if they hadn't sold their flatbed division...Schneider is well managed, they treat you right if you treat them right, financially secure, diverse, they have freight, they take care of you if you take care of them....a lot like Maverick :yes2557:...except Schneider was more willing to throw money my way.

I was given a $5,000 bonus for the most loaded miles in a year, paid $120 per day for being out on weekends (loaded or empty), I stayed out 4 weeks and took a week off...all the time, that was my routine (doing heavy haul)....

Now riddle me this...how did I get the most loaded miles in a year doing heavy haul?

And I know things have changed a bit in the last few years...no company is gonna throw much money at you, but the principle is still the same.
