-
What were the codes that were written and the description on the report? -
396.3a1bl Brake-reverse system pressure loss,
393.45 brake tubing and hose adequecy,
393.9(a)inoperable required lamp,
393.55(e)abs malfuntion lamps towed mfg>2/98<2/09,
393.45 brake tubing and hose adequacy,
on this they put a spacer in betwwen hoses on trlr. and abs light could not be fixed. due to hot wire for gov freight. the rest they could not find anything wrong the mechanic said. -

dieselbear said: ↑I agree with what your saying .. as far as the air leak went went i shut off truck it is air ride the air releases letting trailer and truck settle and you can hear the ait leaking. when I went thru the air release with the officer it did what it was suppose to do. and air built up as it was suppose to . i sat on breaaks for 20 mins or more with no air loss. he says that he hears air loss i do not .I have had air losses that can be heard and not found i do also understand that. the mechanic did not hear it or find it.The abs light i understood the trailer air hoses i understood . the other light issue was alternating flashers which no one could find but the officer. My issue isnt the write up when there real but when no one else can find them or see them or hear them but that particular officer. I have issues with that . it is my reputation as a driver and my livlyhood being questioned.ddizzy1 said: ↑Without being there, I have no idea what was present. However, the 396.3a brake system pressure loss is when the vehicle can not maintain air, usually resulting in a out of service defect. From your earlier post it sounded like you had an audible air leak somewhewre on the combination. That can be written up as well, although an audible leak by itself is not out of service. A lot of times they can be difficult to locate, i.e. on the frame, around the relay etc. I write up an audible leak, but if I can not locate the exact source it will be written up as "audible air leak in the area of the 3rd axle right side."
393.45 can be a chafed air line, leaking air line, damaged air line.
393.9 is a required light that is inoperable.
393.55 is the ABS light on the trailer. On the left rear of the trailer there is a ABS light, when the ABS system is malfunctioning the ABS light (usually yellow) stays activated. That can be something as simple as a cable disconnected on one of the rear axles. Happens a lot of times if you hit a road gator in the road and it rips that ABS line off the axle and the cable is hanging down. Something that can be easily seen on a walkaround. Regardless, if the light is activated there is a ABS system failure.Click to expand...

I agree. I have also saw that when the air is released from the air bags, but that is not a brake reserve pressure loss. Pressure loss is checked while the driver is at the cab. Truck running with air around 90 psi or better. Have the driver step on the brake and hold until directed to release. As enforcement I watch the air gauge and see if the truck can maintain air. If there is a significant leak the pressure will drop, the low air device will activate then the brakes will set. Thus brake reserve pressure loss & OOS.
That would be the reason for a Data Q to challenge the inspection.Click to expand... -

I do want to thank you for taking the time to chat with me about this.ddizzy1 said: ↑I agree. That is the part that is so incredibly offensive.ddizzy1 said: ↑I have a data q challenge in affect now . because as i said he checked twice with no air loss in a 20-30 minute brak test. but i just recieved and email today saying . there is no response from officer so it is closed and not changed.
