so I cant understand why truck makers do not sell COE in the USA now. Paccar makes good DAF 105 with Paccar MX engine. Mercedes introduced Actros MP4 with DD15 (OM471), Volvo builds FH... so seems to me it would be good idea to sell US versions of EU COE trucks (with US calibrated engines, US axes and 12V electric systems, DOT lamps) like for example car makers do.
What a reason to keep truck of the last century on market if Daimler makes Actros and simplified, but reliable Axor. I'd prefere to sell Axor on US market, becouse it is designed for OM906/457/460 engines (MB900 and MB4000), so any US engine will fit it. Axor is offered in 4x2, 6x2 and 6x4 versions with different cabs so it would be a good truck for solo driver

Because usa managers are Stupid. -
but those trucks could not be sold as models in EU because of different US front axle weight law this will include lot of differences even magnum would be too heavy
-
what is the weight distribution of this truck? -
well i have owned and driven alot of coe's and I wont do it again I hat them I will refuse a job if I had to drive one.
-
this one is about 5.5+ton on front axle empty and 4ton on rear -
and as I can see 5th wheel slider, it would be easy to change weight distribution to get legal scale figures.
ten years ago everyone was sure that it is useless to offer subcompact cars on US market and what we can see now? Ford sells Fiesta, GM sells Corsa... and more and more sedans smaller Taurus. So seems to me cabovers will be back.... -
truck is empty over 12000lbs on front axle today trucks no longer can be inside of those weights
when scania was present in US even with 1410mm front overhang it could be legal because some versions are lighter than 4500kg
lightest v8 was 4600 on front -
and even if it will be possible to get below 12000lbs empty front part of truck
5th wheel would be too far from cab and with short overhang of trailer gap between trailer and cab would be too big (~2.1m on this actros) -
